The bad news:
According to today's world, renovations are temporarily shut down due to the subcontractor's not filing all of the required permits. It will cost some money & time but once the permits are obtained the work will resume.

The good news:
Work is being done to renovate floors 2-5 into open "loft sytle" office space with exposed ductwork. Part of this renovation includes fixing up the now exposed north face of the building. Total time is 120 days to renovate. The new owner's own company will take up occupancy on the 5th floor once construction is complete. Long term plans are to turn the 2nd floor into a new orlean's style restaurant with a balcony overlooking first place plaza (where mcbirney and cordell used to be) and put a club in the basement that is accessible from street level.

The same owner bought the Vandever building at 16 E 5th which he plans on turning into a small hotel.
