Sometime... From 1963 to 1990, probably closer to 1963, there was a big article in the Tulsa World about AT&T building a large center in the Mounds OK area.  

This was an Autovon switch center, half underground, built to withstand Tulsa being taken out by a nuclear attack.  The ties to
the cold war, made it interesting to the locals.

Pictures, maps, etc were probably included in the article.

Does anyone remember such an article?  When it may have been done?  Anyone have any other information about the site?

Mounds was an AUTOVON switching center and microwave radio junction.
