We live in a town that tore down every last one of its fabulous old movie houses.  We live in a town that has torn down one historic structure after another calling it progress.  We tore down the old Greenwood business district.  We tore down the old county court house.  To this day we are demolishing historic structures – witness Mayo Meadows Shopping Center.  Can we trust a town that has thrown away an architectural treasure trove to be judicious in the elimination of substandard housing?

Don’t get me wrong.  I’m pro-development, if it’s smart development.  Tulsa needs to stop the destruction of one of its greatest assets – its history.
