In case you missed the Tulsa World story on 12/29/05, it looks like Lafortune is eager to tear down the Towerview Apts to build a downtown hotel.  (The owner of the building wants to convert it to lofts/condos.) The Tulsa World (preservationists, all) included an unflattering photo of the back of the building (focusing on the fire escape stairs) rather than a streetfront view highlighting the brickwork that makes the building attractive.

Is it just me, or are there plenty of vacant lots downtown on which hotels could be built?  INFILL development, Mr. Mayor, INFILL!
