Come celebrate the mid-twentieth century modern aesthetic, sponsored by Urban Furnishings Company and the Lortondale Neighborhood Association, Friday October 21st, 5-8 PM.  Location is the Urban Furnishings store at 3638 South Peoria in Tulsa.  Light refreshments will be served.

View an exhibit from the Lortondale Neighborhood Association.  Lortondale was constructed 1954-1956 east of Yale Avenue between 26th Street and 27th Street, Yale to Hudson Avenues.  Lortondale is Tulsa's only exclusively modern architecture, architect-designed neighborhood.  Lortondale had the first neighborhood swimming pool in Tulsa, built for the homeowners, and was the very first tract home development in the United States where all homes came with central air conditioning as a standard amenity.  Lortondale was featured in many national publications in the 1950s and 1960s, among them "House & Home," "Better Homes & Gardens," and "Parents" magazine.
