http://www.ifoapplestore.com/stores/chronology.html scroll down to confirmed by tipsters I happen to find this site about apple retail stores and I found this: Woodland Hills - Tulsa (Okla.) - The #15 largest metro area without an Apple retail store has a very nice indoor mall on the city's south side, the state's largest at 1.2 million square-feet. It's operated by Simon Property Group Inc., with 180 stores over two floors, including all the usual Apple store neighbors. Apple signed 12-year lease on a smallish store space and second, separate stockroom. First revealed by tipster Oct. 4, 2004. Ill be there the day it opens. [  ]

I just saw the sign yesterday in front of the slot where the store will be. I think it was right next to Banana Republic on the lower level.

I'm gonna wait until version 2 comes out with direct access to the itunes store and a larger hard drive. Being dependant on a PC kinda nixes it for me.

After being on the Apple bandwagon (or perhaps it was the anti-MS bandwagon), I am officially off. In my experience, both companies are really the same and I am sick of Windows vs. MacOS. Heck, I even used Linux for sometime. I will now use whatever software I want to, regardless of how cool the commercial tells me it is.
I just wanted to get that off my chest.

Believe me, Mac computers are great. I have had one for going on four years. Had a few problems, but nothing that a simple internet search couldn't resolve. Try and say that for Windows operated systems!!! BTW, yes, I am using a Toshiba. It's the only Windows operated laptop I will even think of using.

Ummmmmm... the Mac stores don't charge any more than what you could get them for online. Sure they're more expensive than PCs, but what you get is pretty advanced, and will last you for quite a while. It's like buying a Honda as opposed to a Mitsubishi.

I disagree. The hardware isn't anymore advanced than PC hardware. In fact, it IS PC hardware. Their motherboards are Intel boards, memory is DDR2 from your standard third party vendors. The only "advancement" in hardware is the shell, and if that is ture, that is one EXPENSIVE shell.
The older G5 Gigabt Logic motherboards were more than $600 for a field replacement unit. That is $400 more than the highest-performing aftermarket PC motherboard.
And Mac OS X? That doesn't make Macs expensive. MacOS X is $129 a copy. So Apple is charging a premium. I built my own PC. Been running beautifully for two years. Still no issues. And since I have been running Windows Vista Home Premium since January, I still have no problems. Vista runs all of my applications better than XP ever did, and writing code on Vista is a dream.
I'm not saying Macs are bad. They are good computers. Just overpriced, IMO.

i see Steve Jobs has successfully pulled the wool over your eyes. price out the SAME hardware specs at Dell and you will see they are as much as $1000 more expensive. Its quite ridiculous. |

They are going to open a Apple store at Woodland Hills and one in OKC as well. I actually did a phone interview with Apple in regards to this for a mac genius posistion. They posted a job listing on craigslist that linked to apple's site.
