It is time to get Mad, Make a Difference in the future of Tulsa. The Mayor of Tulsa needs to hear from you in a written letter immediately. The Tulsa Contemporary art center and Art Loft project needs funding support from the Downtown Tulsa 3rd Penny Funds to become a reality. This project represents a turning point for the future of Downtown Tulsa.
During the YP Access Tulsa event last night it came to our attention that the Tulsa Contemporary arts center and Art Lofts, a project that has been in the works for almost two years is at risk of not happening and time is running out. A goal of 500 written letters has been set. It is time to send your letter to the Mayor’s office and make your voices heard on the importance of this vital Downtown revitalization project. We are calling on you to help persuade the Mayor of Tulsa to change direction and stand up for what is vital for Tulsa’s future. This means making the Contemporary Art and Art Loft project a priority.
During the original Vision 2025 money distribution the project did not make the cut and it appears that it will not make the cut this time around either. The only hope we have to show the Mayor how much this endeavor means to the citizens of Tulsa.
Large numbers of letters is the most effective method to gain the attention of the people that make the decisions on where money should be distributed. Instead of sending the money to the select few we are demanding that the money go to the many.
The Tulsa Contemporary art center represents a central place for artists, creatives and the future economic engine of Tulsa to congregate, ideate, and create.
We realize that you are busy and that your time is precious. Your time will be well spent and will support creating a positive change in Tulsa’s future showcasing what is possible and set the stage for a re-birth of our great city.
