Stop me if you've heard this one: Some vague developers with no obvious ties to the theme park industry are proposing a multi-billion dollar park in the middle of nowhere with a lame vague name and theme. This resort will supposedly compete with the likes of Disney and Universal. The development will start with... drumroll... an RV park.
Several of these mega projects have been proposed over the past few years, mostly in Texas. None have come to fruition. The game plan is: make a splashy announcement, collect some money from foreign investors needing a place to throw their cash to get around sanctions/taxes/whatever, then disappear. At least Grand Texas resulted in a water park eventually being built, but those developers were much closer to being honest than most.
