Stupid fake project is stupid. Completely laughable and makes exactly zero business sense. If you think this will happen I have some nice seaside property in Kansas you might like.

Whether it get built or not--I'd wager that it won't get built--just scratching my head, smiling with a spice of laughter.

What we do know about the proposed Boardwalk in Bricktown/Dream Hotel project (Pre Supertail Residential), it could become one of Oklahoma City's largest tax increment financing agreements. The $736 million development would include housing, a hotel, retail space, as well as two underground parking garages. The 25-year tax increment funding proposal offers up to $200 million in property tax rebates and up to $5.5 million in sales tax rebates.

The city's Tax Increment District Review Committee approved the 2 million square foot development that will add at least two residential towers (300 ft each), more than 900 jobs, nearly 900 parking spaces, a lagoon, a workforce development center, possibly two hotels (250 feet each); these figures continue to change over time.

Stay tuned for changes.

More than five years after closing on the sale of an iconic but dilapidated skyscraper in downtown Oklahoma City, BancFirst’s $70 million renovation
is complete. The decision to undertake the massive project wasn't just a strategic move for BancFirst but a commitment to the city's revitalization.

Devon Park seats 12,500 for softball, LA28 Olympics may use Oklahoma City as a co-host for softball and canoe slalom.

2017 GO Bonds - $27.5 million was apart of the 4,000 seat upper deck and stadium expansion/improvements to Devon Park in 2020.

Now poised to co-host LA28 World Softball Olympic Games and canoe slalom in 1928.

Temporary venues and additional construction would be needed to host softball and canoe slalom, something LA28 has said it will avoid.

That's where Oklahoma City comes in with two settings for part of this Hollywood story.

“Oklahoma City has hosted many international competitions at our unique, world-class whitewater and softball venues,” Oklahoma City Mayor David Holt said. “We are confident we will be an outstanding partner to LA28 in creating a dynamic environment for Olympians and fans. We are excited about the opportunity to support one of America’s great global cities, Los Angeles, and work closely with the LA28 organizing committee to ensure that the 2028 Olympic Games are a success.”

Press release:

Canoo to Expand Presence in Central U.S. with Engineering Talent and Headquarters Relocation September 5, 2024

Canoo, a high-tech advanced mobility company, recently announced plans to migrate its engineering workforce to its two Oklahoma locations – Oklahoma City and Pryor – as well as plans to relocate its corporate headquarters to northern Texas. Canoo estimates these efforts will bring $15 million in new taxes for the engineering relocations and headquarters, with an expected $150 million in new tax base over the next 10 years.

The engineer migration will result in approximately 137 engineering positions being relocated to Texas and Oklahoma with approximately 75% in Oklahoma. Existing Canoo engineers have been offered relocations packages. At this time, the company does not have official numbers of workforce relocations and anticipates relocations to begin in the fourth quarter of 2024.

The company cited one of the benefits of the move as co-locating engineering and manufacturing within the company’s vehicle manufacturing facility in Oklahoma City. Canoo currently occupies nearly 500,000 square feet with the ability to rapidly expand. The company is proud to offer their customers products made in America and to continue investing in a state that supports diverse businesses and promotes workforce diversity.

Canoo’s vehicles are currently on the road with USPS, Walmart, NASA, and other large commercial, government and fleet customers. The company states their design-forward innovative electric cargo vehicles are reinventing the commercial vehicle landscape. The vehicles modular electric platform is purpose-built to maximize the vehicle interior space and is customizable to support a wide range of business and government applications.

To be fair I wish the OKC posts would stop or at the very least this forum allowed me to mute them.
