The Tulsa Foundation for Architecture announces “Dwell in the IDL”.

Tulsa, OK (October 24, 2014)- The Tulsa Foundation For Architecture is excited to bring Tulsans a look into the lives of urban residents with our second “Dwell in the IDL” tour.

“Dwell in the IDL” will showcase downtown living through adaptive reuse and creative new construction in the heart of Tulsa.  Eight properties will be on display November 9, 2014 from 1pm to 5pm.  Participants will see the results and be a part of the revitalization that is happening in the downtown core.

A few highlights of the tour include the Vandever Lofts, 100 Boulder, and the iconic Philtower.  The Vandever Lofts was featured in last years “Dwell” as a hard-hat tour, and this year will showcase the finished product.  Originally a department store, it now has 40 unique living spaces featuring the latest in urban Tulsa living.  100 Boulder gives Tulsans a chance to buy a piece of downtown by offering condominiums for purchase.  This alternative to renting boasts private balconies and high-tech kitchens making it a must see on the tour.  Every Tulsan can identify the beautiful Philtower.  With its colorful pyramid roof, it remains an identifying structure in the downtown skyline offering tour goers a chance to tour a building that was a leader in the revitalization of  downtown living.

The Tulsa Foundation for Architecture is a resource that recognizes, records, and encourages preservation of the built environment and advocates quality future development that enhances Tulsa’s livability.

“Dwell in the IDL” will take place November 9, 2014 starting at Dwelling Spaces located 119 S. Detroit Avenue.  Tour passports are required for admission and include details on each tour stop. Passports are $20 per person (children under 12 are free if accompanied by a paying adult) and will soon be available in advance online (tulsaarchitecture.com) or the day of the event. All passports must be picked up at Dwelling Spaces, 119 S. Detroit, beginning November 2nd.
