I Conquered The 2013 -2015 Polar Bear Plunge!!

« on: October 04, 2014, 09:56:08 am »

Hey gang did anyone notice the Whataburber on Memorial & 27th is no more. They closed it up  and shut it down. I guess they did not get enough business to warrant a re-modeling. I believe that restaurant was there since the late 1960's. They painted that whole building white and put a fence up around it.

26th from Memorial eastward seems to be dead or dying.
There have been restaurants and businesses there shuttered for years.

Today the 7th of October  is the last day  of Reasors at 71st & Garnette. Nothing is being sold at discount, what does not sell will be trucked to another store. Pyramid also had problems at that location. Another big empty building.

The Whataburger is now fenced off like a Ferguson QuikTrip, but it seems like there are more lights on now that when it was open.
At some point that smelly place will be declared a public nuisance.

I wonder why they painted that Whataburger building all white. Does anyone know how old that building is? The building next door to it is also vacant and has been for over a year. Oh well one less Whataburger joint I guess.

No big loss....if they wanted a real old fashioned 'greasy' burger they would have gone to Lot-A-Burger to start with....

Everything's expensive when you live in a single wide with a blue tarp held down with old tires on the roof, and paying for gas in a 35 year old truck.

It's all about what you value in life.  If you value a $5 What-A-Burger instead, then I can't help you at all....too far gone!
