Nov. Meeting:
Wed. Nov. 5th
5:30pm
Foolish Things
Turkey Mountain.
Throughout the month of Sept., we wrote an in-depth series about the proposed retail outlet mall at the Turkey Mountain Wilderness Area. Through interviews and documentation from INCOG, the City of Tulsa, and the Tulsa County Tax Assessor's office, we investigated the issue in depth, worked to dispell some myths, and answered & clarified many questions submitted by TulsaNow readers.

The retail development of private land in this area has been an opportunity for TulsaNow to teach about the issues we've advocated for, for many years:  land use, city and neighborhood planning, our city's comprehensive plan, zoning issues, private property rights, and best use of public investments.

At this meeting we'll bring together the advocates for keeping Turkey Mountain green, as well as the city's own planning department to discuss the future of the Turkey Mountain Wilderness Area.
