Well, the world cup is over. Time to look for a replacement. Let's vote:

1.  Full contact bass fishing;

2.  Clothing-optional Sumo wrestling;

3.  Tour de France.

Add.

The baseball All-Star game is this first week. Football is less than two months away.

I will say this much.  The 'trophy' is hideous.  It looks like something D&D players would fight over.

Now, this is a cooler trophy:

For one..it's actually a Cup.  I've seen people drink out of it.  I've seen it in person as well.  It weighs well over 30 lbs.

Get your act together FIFA...if you want players to want to win the World Cup, make the trophy worthy of it.

Here's one of my favorites, the trophy for winning the Paris-Roubaix bicycle race. It's called the Hell of the North for good reason. The race is usually about 160 miles (not kilometers) with numerous sections of "pave" - cobblestone roads that date back to Roman times. In good weather it's extremely dusty. In bad weather, it may rain or snow and high winds are not uncommon. The cobbles are rough and slippery, not unlike riding atop oily pavement.

Not really, when you see those dudes play with broken bones, busted teeth..hell, one dude last season had cardiac arrest on the bench, then as they loaded him to go to the hospital he was asking when he could take his next shift.  Tough bastards.  It amazes me after the playoffs and finals are over how many of these guys were playing through bone breaks and other general ailments that they didn't want known.

Very nice collection of flopping. And while the NBA is bad as well, the best performances by far are in soccer.

I always enjoyed watching "professional" wrestling, too!  Same kind of fake stuff going on....
