Saturday morning, an Owasso neighborhood was rattled by a large explosion. Police said that people in the house were assembling "commercial mortar shells" when one of them went off. Two people were transported to the hospital as well as two OPD officers who were overcome by smoke.

First, what kind of dumbax makes large explosive devices inside a residential subdivision?

It gets worse. Apparently, some quantities of explosives were packed into metal cylinders. Can anyone tell me what a pipe bomb consists of? Is it not an explosive in a metal tube? ATF is looking into it now.

So far, I haven't seen any mention of the names of those involved. The news media isn't usually this reticent.

Mortars for fireworks.  Police originally told media it was a meth lab, hence the pair that started down the di$ability route.
