The Oklahoma Championship Steak Cook-Off   www.oksteakcookoff.com  is downtown this weekend.   There will be two music stages this year and my favorite part is seeing all the "Classic Cars" that will be lined up along Boston Ave.

One thing as a slight side note.  The DECOPOLIS will be having a special book signing by Don Wagoner for his newest book "Tulsa's Art Deco Top Ten."  Filled with photos and in depth info about Tulsa's most striking, world renowned, Art Deco architectural treasures.  Don will be at the DECOPOLIS (corner of 6th and Boston)  during the Championship Cook-Off between the hours of 2 & 4 this Saturday.  Come by and pick up a special signed edition!

From the Steak Cook-Off facebook page...

The Fifth annual Oklahoma Championship Steak Cook-off will be held August 24,2013 in beautiful downtown Tulsa along Cincinnati Ave, between 5th and 6th streets.

All steak lovers are invited – whether you think you are a grillmaster or just love the taste of a mouth watering rib eye steak.

Over 2500 steaks were cooked last year and this year promises to be even bigger. More than 50 grills of all shapes and sizes will fill the air with the sweet smell of sizzling meat.

Be sure and come early to assist in judging the new “Appetizer/Anything-But-Steak” category – the public picks the winner of this one!

Also, enjoy a massive car show with over 70 classic cars…
and be sure to enjoy the juried art show inside beautiful Trinity Church.

Once again, this year's steaks will be 16OZ Certified Angus Beef ® Rib-eyes, the only beef brand endorsed and monitored by the American Angus Association’s 28,000 cattle ranchers.

All proceeds from this event will go to help at-risk Tulsans, through organizations like Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma, Iron Gate, Habitat for Humanity and New Hope.

Join us August 24 to cook or to dine at the largest steak dinner in the Sooner state.

See you downtown!"
