I wish there was a way to watch away games.  They shredded the houston team on friday 5-2.  As soon as I get my new desk at work on monday, I'm going to proudly display my athletics scarf!

A few highlights from Houston's games Friday against Liverpool Warriors (Dallas) and Sunday against us... watch the smooth move by "English Stevie" at 0:14 and our second goal of the opening half slotted home by Johnny Chavez!

Any chance the team will reach out to former Roughneck players and have them come out and introduced to the crowd?
It would be awesome to see some of the old players again.

I was at Lowes across the street during the game.  At the back of the garden center I heard a cheer rise up... it made me really wish I was there instead of working on the honey-do list.  STAY LOUD!

I need to get there.

CFC (edit: Chattanooga FC) is not only chasing a Southeast title and a spot in the four-team playoff to determine who represents the South Conference in the NPSL championships, it's also trying to host the South playoff. The division champion with the most points will host and as of Friday the points leader is Tulsa Athletics of the South Central with 16 points.

No other division leader has more than eight points, so it will likely come down to Tulsa and the South division winner.

Soccer: Athletics stay undefeated

The wins kept Tulsa in first place with rival Liverpool (Dallas) coming to Drillers Stadium at 6 p.m. Saturday. A win would clinch the South Central Division and move the Athletics closer to the overall No. 1 seed and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. I got some free tickets to the game this Saturday. Who will set up a tailgate party? I will donate six tickets to the person who does and invites me for a beer.

We had a good time on Saturday night. There was a crowd of 3,500 announced.

Our own Rufnex sang the national anthem (great job) and they honored Victor Moreland before the game.

It was a very physical game. The teams don't like each other and the referees let the pushing get out of control. In the second half, a skirmish broke out and two Tulsa players got ejected. They had to play the rest of the game down two players.

Tulsa had a 2 to 0 lead until Liverpool got a penalty kick to make it 2 to 1. Then, with just a minute or two to play they tied it up by taking advantage of the extra players. With less than a minute to play, a ball went put of bounds and was kicked away into the stands by a Tulsa coach. That infuriated the Liverpool team and one of their players attacked the coach on the sidelines. As the game ended a brawl broke out with many players on both sides fighting.

Tulsa had the bigger and faster team until they had to play down. Tulsa has an excellent goalie as well. You can see why they are still undefeated.

Admission was just five dollars and concessions were reasonably priced. Bottles of soda were $2.75 and cold cans of beer were $3.75. They had five food trucks including Mangino's, Pita Place, Siegi's and others selling everything including funnel cakes and corn dogs.

Wow, sounds like a hockey game.  I might have to attend!

I bet we could pull 10K for an MLS team. I'd buy season tickets for sure. All of my buddies love this new club in town...none of them even played soccer.
