I Conquered The 2013 -2015 Polar Bear Plunge!!

« on: February 11, 2012, 12:52:48 pm »

There is some good news, they are Re-building the Admiral Twin screen, so far the steel frame is up and it really looks good. I'm glad to see it coming back, Friday they installed one of the top (what I always called) "Stacks", (on the old screen the  "stacks" on top looked a bit like a chiminey), don't know how they will finish off these new "stacks". The old screen had a classic design. They said something early on that the new screen will be a bit smaller then the old screen, then they talked about making it the same size, the steel frame looks just as tall as the old, but not as wide. Anyhow it's good news the steel frame will last forever, so an Tulsa historic icon will be back. I bet opening day will be super busy. I live  very close to it.. This new screen will also have a West & East screen. Cheesy

The new Admiral Twin is really looking great, they have started to install the west side screen on the steel frame. I dunno when the opening date is supposed to be but I bet it'll be busy. I have been told the size is 70' X 90'. I dunno the size of the old screen but this new Admiral screen is said to be a bit smaller but still has one of the biggest drive-in screens in the nation.

The east side screen is starting to go up. Won't be much longer now till the screen is filled with movies, and the parking lot full.

It won't do any good to point this out to Sauerkraut.   Unfortunately I have a history with him and he is as thick as a brick.
