The actor Eric Roberts has been here for the last few weeks shooting a movie.  He's now eating at Top That! at 83rd about 3 times a week.

He is there now.  This is his third or fourth trip this week.  Multi-grain veggi-spinach pizza guy.

Kinda South-midtown.  Don't want it to interfere with possible downtown locations.

A downtown location would be awesome.  Somewhere in the 5th & Main area.

Went to new BA restaurant over the weekend.  I think I have finally dialed in the pizza to perfection.  Yum!!  They made the transition to next location beautifully!

Drinks on the other hand continue to be substandard.  Am beginning to suspect a big part of the problem is inherent in that new style machine.  Drinks are always off on the mix, no matter which flavor is tried.  If one were to fill a fountain cup (even without ice) and then open the same soda in either can or plastic bottle, the difference is big and very noticeable.  And doing that emphasizes just how far off these machines are.  If it isn't the machine, then the operator is just trying to 'game' the drinks - which doesn't seem typical of the basic operation of the place.

Does anyone know of another place using this type fountain so can do comparison?

Firehouse Subs

Thanks!  Will go check them out.

I REALLY like Top That - wish they had a place down on I-35 for my occasional forays through the area - but just can't do the drinks any more.  Will eat the pizza, then go to McDonald's for the dollar fountain drink - and the better drink mix.   (And $1.79 for a small 20 oz???  Oh, well...)

Drinks!!  Found a major win in the drink department - one that has been right under my nose for decades, and have finally come full circle back to.

Sonic has Fanta orange and a selection of flavors available.  Realization of this intruded into my consciousness this weekend, so was able to get the orange/vanilla combination (really needs "2" vanilla shots) to achieve Dreamsicle nirvana!  Yay, team Sonic!

The new Top That! on 41st had it's soft open yesterday.  My boy killed an Aloha, and my girl made a very interesting pesto/roasted garlic/asiago combination that was actually quite good, but I had to deal with her breath for the rest of the day!

I did the Zorba The Veggie, but added buffalo chicken, making a Zorba The Buffalo.  It was a keeper!

Place was packed and the product was perfectly consistent. They will be open soon.  Any ideas on what the Midtown crowd would like to see on their pizzas???
