Hello everyone,  I am new to the Tulsa area and to this forum.  I'm an avid runner and was just curious if there are any Track and Fields that are open to the public?  The town I grew up in and went to High School at the track was never locked and pretty much open to the public.  Then in college the track and field at OSU was always open to whoever wanted to run it.  But here in Tulsa pretty much every school is a private school and they are gated up and locked like a prison (not sure how strick about trespassing).  Does anyone know of any that are not that I would be able to run at during the evening time after school hours?  I currently jog at riverside, but I would like a track to time my 400m sprints for my HIIT workouts, and I feel that it is just more enjoyable and a change of scenery.

At least as of a few years back the track at Will Rogers High School was open to the public.  East 5th St. east of Harvard, west of Pittsburg.  Not sure the exact cross street.

I think the Tulsa Running Club (or something similar to that name) run every Tuesday night at 6pm at the TU track.  You should go down there and check it out!

there is a track at the jenks football practice field which is located by the 9th grade center.  I dont know the cross streets off the top of my head, but its east of the 9th grade center.  It was redone a few yrs ago and is where they hold track and field events for Jenks public schools.

I only use two because they are both within minutes from where I live. The Jenks track is open and is a great track to run on. Also further down the road, Glenpool just put down a new surface for their track over the summer in addition to the turf for the football field and is the one I frequent the most. If any of these are within your range, they are worth checking out.

To get to the Jenks track, just follow the road that takes you along the Riverwalk to the north until you come to the new Riverwalk apartments. Once you cross over the levee, you should see the baseball field and track next to it.

The Glenpool track is at the football stadium which is located along 151st street about 1/2 a mile east of Highway 75. It is a very windy track since it's surrounded by open land.

Nathan Hale out on 21st has a track.  Might ask the Principal.  Most of the high schools have tracks, most of which should be available.
