In case you didn't catch it in the news, I just got a text from AT&T advising that 10 digit dialing begins on 8/7/10 and mandatory 918/539 starts on March 5, 2011.

IOW, you can still call as a seven digit or ten digit between now and March 5, after that, 10 digit will be mandatory.

And for those who have asked about it in the past, the 539 will be an "overlay" to the 918, rather than splitting up the zone.

Dammit Conan, you made me read the comments on the World article and now I have a stupidity induced headache.

And you just had to share the misery.  It didn't dawn on me to indulge in the comments section until after your comment...damn I got the same headache now:

"How does dialing 10 numbers help attract business? I guess they will chose OKC over Tulsa. Thanks Corporation Commission. Oh. Also, all major highways into Tulsa are Toll roads. OKC has I35. Business does not like paying tax to ship or receive goods."

I read the comments on there yesterday.  Still having mild seizures from it.  Those really should come with some kind of warning label.

I think the Tulsa World should implement a reading comprehension quiz about the article before you're allowed to post a comment on it.
