Last night I read on Tulsa Food Blog's Twitter that Oliver's Twist on Brookside is now closed. Unfortunately there were no specific details given as to why.

I'd only eaten there once, for Sunday brunch a couple of months ago. I'd read a few bad reviews online regarding bad service and cold food, but the one time I went, the food was good, and my friends and I definitely enjoyed the $10 unlimited mimosas.

I had trouble getting past the stupid name for starters.

Seems like somone told me the other night what is going to go in there now I can't remember.  Maybe I should try and be more sober when I'm on assignment for TNF.

newsflash: plays on well-known characters, books or pop-culture in general only works for porno movies.

DO NOT NAME YOUR RESTAURANT ANY OF THE FOLLOWING:

The Crepes of Wrath.
Porterhouse-Five
Lord of the Fries
Ninteen Eatery Four

Though, I might go to Porterhouse-Five.  I love Vonnegut.

Isn't that usually the saving face way to say: "I couldn't afford the rent"

Yeah, they had a landlord disagreement. The landlord thought they should pay the rent and the tenant didn't.

That's it....so now the Landlord is scouring the town for a chef. But the place got hosed by moving the bar and the space itself is cold and dark. No ambiance. Needs to be retail.

Sounds like they need a check valve in the sewer line- problem solved.

I heard that Mondo's will be opening up in the old Twist location. If true, that should be interesting.

Anyone know if Rob Aloisio has anything to do with Bru House?  Seems like he was a partner in Smitty's or Blu when it was there.
