There are literally hundreds of "uses" listed in the zoning code's index of land uses. (Another source of amusement is the matrix that shows which uses are allowed in which one of the 23 zoning districts.)
Some uses you see every day ("dentist office" or "restaurant other than drive-thru"). Some are quite fantastic!

This way, we can tell what's allowed and not allowed in any given zoning district. I like the way "frisbee golf course," and "auto race rack" have the same use unit, and thus, are appropriate for the same zoning districts. (As I said: it's very scientific!)
