Interesting that they noted that applications are up over 100%. While I'm not a fan of many of ORU's general beliefs/policies having a growing university is a good thing for the city. There has been a lot of capital injected into the university over the last few years. They just need to figure out a way to get more students to graduate... they have about a 40% graduation rate which is pretty awful. ORU brings in a lot of students from out of state and out of the country, it really could be a big economic driver for the city if it really takes off.

I feel similarly. I am both happy to see more higher ed investment and gritting my teeth at the fact that it is to a system with such bigoted beliefs. Thankfully not all at ORU share all the viewpoints of their leadership.
The Mabee Center is certainly an economic engine. Aside from the basketball team, it hosts a lot of events. It will be good to see the basketball team continue to make waves and get our city into the limelight more.
