I have to agree Towny. The Mabee Center parking lot looks like a vast Desert Prairie.
But hey, you should be able to spot a car jacking with no problem.
Once upon a time it was a great place to run sail trikes  Grin

Mabee Center is headed for a major renovation/expansion.

Interesting that they noted that applications are up over 100%. While I'm not a fan of many of ORU's general beliefs/policies having a growing university is a good thing for the city. There has been a lot of capital injected into the university over the last few years. They just need to figure out a way to get more students to graduate... they have about a 40% graduation rate which is pretty awful. ORU brings in a lot of students from out of state and out of the country, it really could be a big economic driver for the city if it really takes off.

Have to take advantage on your opportunities... great way to take their NCAA tournament momentum and run with it.

I feel similarly. I am both happy to see more higher ed investment and gritting my teeth at the fact that it is to a system with such bigoted beliefs. Thankfully not all at ORU share all the viewpoints of their leadership.

The Mabee Center is certainly an economic engine. Aside from the basketball team, it hosts a lot of events. It will be good to see the basketball team continue to make waves and get our city into the limelight more.
