Hey everyone,

New to the TulsaNow forum and just found about it this weekend.  Anyway I will be moving there about a month from now (end of July-beginning of Aug) and was wondering what kind of volunteer opportunities are available.  I know that I am moving to South Tulsa basically across from Woodland Hills Mall, and was wondering what type of volunteering organizations are available there.

I love to volunteer for different organizations (well when I'm not in the military LOL) and have been volunteering since high school.   It really doesn't matter what type, as long as its not TOO dirty Undecided.  I will be contacting local hospitals to see what they have to offer since I am majoring in Nursing, but also thought that I should actually get out of the hospitals and go with other organizations.

So Tulsans (that's what yous are called right?) what organizations do you have and if you know any contacts that will be great.  Any and all information is appreciated.

Thanks for any info  Grin

i'd go with, in chronological order...

art of bbq   http://www.ahct.org/artofbbq/
dfest   http://www.dfest.com/
wildbrew   http://www.wildbrew.org/
oktoberfest  http://www.tulsaoktoberfest.org/

but i like beer, being outside and hanging with a younger crowd of volunteers...

The library has an online listing of most non-profits in town.  You can search by keywords to find organizations that might be of interest to you.
