Title: PSO Expanding in Oklahoma
Post by: sgrizzle on March 05, 2006, 08:31:29 pm
Thanks to some recent changes in the mindest of AEP, PSO will be expanding in Oklahoma. They are adding peak (summer) and baseload (year round) capacity. Riverside station (Jenks) is currently rated at 900MW out of 2 units. They just announced they are adding 2 more gas-powered units boosting rated capacity to 1070MW. Southwest statin in Anadarko (SW oklahoma) is getting a similar upgrade. This is just for the peak capacity requirement. Another announcement will be forthcoming to provide (600MW I believe) of baseload capacity. Good chance on this being in NE Oklahoma. Each of these builds means a few more jobs long term, a lot of short term labor needed for construction, and an increase in taxes paid by PSO.
