Title: Brookside Infill approved!
Post by: OurTulsa on September 02, 2005, 08:50:42 am
Last night the Tulsa City Council voted 8-1 (Henderson what in the TulsaWorld were you thinking?...er were you?) to approve Jim Glass' PUD that proposed the construction of 8 infill townhomes between the Brookside commercial corridor and the Brookside neighborhood.  Included in the townhome development is a 3,000 sf. office building.  This project is proposed on a site immediately east of the Sinclair shop at 35th and Peoria.  4 of the townhomes will be built essentially up to the sidewalk on 35th and connect wonderfully to both the neighborhood and the core.  There were more supporters of this project at the Council meeting than opposition, which was somewhat refreshing.

Let's hope this is the start of a wonderful urbanization of our city.  One that is mindfull of our existing fabric but realistic in delivering a more efficient density and critical mass that is needed to host a vibrant culture.

If you are interested in details you can contact INCOG and look at PUD 718, maybe they will fax you a copy of the site plan or contact the developer Jim Glass if you are interested in buying one of those $300K homes.  I don't know if the PUD included elevations.
