Tulsa native Antoine Harris is developing 22 acres in North Tulsa. Can you imagine this hotel coming soon to 36th street north!? That is the plan. He has the money and the support of the city.

Given how much the casino has grown this will be well received I think, I doubt it will look anything like the renderings though. I do think some new market rate housing in that area would probably actually do very well. I've seen plans for the Osage Casino to expand even more in the next few years so that area could use some apartments and more homes. If there was a better connection north to Skiatook I could see that area eventually really take off with new homes too.

TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) — A new hotel will break ground in north Tulsa Tuesday.

The Stratford21 hotel is the first in a mixed development site at 36th Street North and Martin Luther King Boulevard.

The hotel is named after J.B. Stratford's hotel that was burned down during the Tulsa Race Massacre. Stratford was one of the founding members of Black Wall Street.

The $15.5 million Tax Increment Financing district is the first private development project to be approved in the new 36th Street North TIF district by the Tulsa City Council.

Alfresco Group CEO Antoine Harris says the multi-million dollar development is important to north Tulsa.

"Once we see we are equal and realize we are equal, we can do what has been done through the city," he said.]

Glad to see this moving so fast - this area has so much potential. It's probably the pretties terrain wise too in the region or at least near the top, hopefully this will encourage some good within North Tulsa to the east and also spur some growth to the west. Would be nice to see some more development NW in Osage Hills area to help balance out the region a bit and get some more population close to the downtown area too.

TULSA, Okla. — A groundbreaking ceremony was held Tuesday for a new hotel in north Tulsa. The development will be built in a field near the corner of 36th St. North and Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, overlooking the Tulsa skyline.

The Alfresco Development Corporation held the groundbreaking ceremony to kick off the $15 million project. It’s the first TIF district to be approved for a private development project by the Tulsa city council.

Developers also plan to build homes, apartments and retail space for businesses in the area. The hotel is expected to be completed in 2023.
