Title: Logan
Post by: Hoss on May 30, 2017, 11:08:47 am
I admit I am a bit of a comic book movie nut....that being said.

I didn't go see Logan in it's theatric run, but did do a 'blind buy' when it was released on the 23rd.  I watched it over the weekend.

Damn.

The movie doesn't feel at all like a superhero movie.  The leads are just awesome in this (including Dafne Keen).  If this is truly Jackman's 'swan song' for Wolverine, then there is not a better or more fitting way for him to go out.  James Mangold definitely got the best from his performers in this.

Even if you are not a superhero film fan, I suggest to watch this movie.  It has a decidedly Western feel to it.  Word of caution.  It is rated R for "strong brutal violence and language throughout, and for brief nudity".  Yep.  If you consider multiple decapitations, limb severs and being impaled strong brutal violence, you'd be right.  And there is also an Oklahoma connection in the movie.

I usually reserve suggesting movies on here for a select few films (I just rewatched American Beauty the other night and that would be another one although it's nearly 20 years old) so this might be the only one I would suggest this year.
