It was one sample out of eighteen that tested positive. I don't know the testing procedure, but I'd suspect that single sample could have been contaminated or it could be a test anomaly. Still, despite that, I'd boil the water.

We'll know more by mid day tomorrow.

A second sample taken later also tested positive according to the Whirled:

On Thursday, the site where the positive sample was taken was re-sampled and tested along with an upstream sample and a downstream sample. The tests take 18 to 24 hours to process.
The upstream sample tested positive for E. coli, a species of coliform bacteria, and the other two sites tested negative. Hatfield said a repeat of total coliform or E. coli constitutes a violation of the maximum contaminant level for total coliform.
 

The restaurant owner's reaction to the boil order did seem somewhat disconcerting, though.

Probably have a pipe leak somewhere that is pulling ground stuff into the line.
