Owasso is developing a corridor overlay along both sides of US169 from 86th Street to 116th, and it includes language like this:
5. The following By-Right and Specific Use Permit uses shall be prohibited in the US-169 North Overlay District. • Industrial Uses in the IH and IM District • Any new agricultural uses or businesses • Chick hatchery • Halfway house • Landfill • Bindery • Juvenile Delinquency Center • Pre-Release Center • Animal and Poultry Raising • Power Plant • Sexually-oriented businesses • Bottled Gas Sales • Outdoor Kennels (not a part of veterinary or grooming business) • Taxidermist • Cemetery • Oil Well Drilling and Cleaning Establishment • Fuel oil sales • Race tracks (auto dog, horse) • Mini-storage warehouses • Truck stop • Shooting range (outdoor) • Drag strip • Outdoor storage of any kind as the principal use • Portable building sales 6. There are some truly amazing uses for octupi. Just sayin'. Seriously, though, this overlay covers parking, architecture and much, much more. Is that typical? Could someone give this a cursory read? Title: Re: US169 corridor overlay (Owasso) Post by: tulsa1603 on February 20, 2012, 03:20:32 pm I don't know anything about it, but I DID grow up in Owasso from the mid 1980's to mid 1990's, and I think they've finally realized something that I noticed the entire time I lived there, and especially now when I go back - the face of Owasso is the Highway 169 corridor, and it is UGLY. Maybe they're trying to do something about that.
