TBH, I got an urge to shoot the TV when an ad for "Sarah Palin's Alaska" came on last night when I was watching the Science Channel. Her smarmy attitude annoys me even more than her thoughtless politics. The danger of watching any of the Discovery properties, I guess.

I'm guessing that FB will be the political downfall of the Palins unless "Mama Grizzly" can reign those cubs in.

Can you imagine the RW lashback if this had been Sasha or Malia doing this?

That's a real classy family right there.  A real family to have as a role model.  Wow.

I actually took the time to read the entire conversation and could only say "Wow!"

It all started because a guy posted on his status that the show was fail, and then the daughters just started calling him everything under the sun.

Sounded like sage advice, not picking a fight.

Quote
On Sunday night, one of the 5 million people watching the premiere of Sarah Palin's Alaska was a peer of the Palin children. He didn't think much of the show and noted on Facebook that it was "failing soo hard." This comment quickly attracted the attention of Dancing With the Stars juggernaut Bristol Palin, her 16-year-old sister, Willow, and, it seems, approximately half of Alaska's under-30 population. The sisters Palin defended their family's good name with passion, but sometimes too much passion. Willow, as today's Internet headlines trumpet, at one point called the Palin critic a "friendly fellow" and "so gay." In other words, she's about as immature and insensitive as most other high schoolers in America. Hopefully her mom will sit Willow down and explain to her that, as a Palin, she has to set a good example. The next time someone is bothering her, the more appropriate thing to do would be to imply that he is secretly a Muslim.

How does Dan Amira = Letterman?

Kinda funny, isn't it.  You asked for his response.  It's like asking the question - "Where were you yesterday", and getting an answer of 'Friday'...

I was not using the reference or its author to support my post. Two different thoughts I was making. No, the "Letterman" reference was to demonstrate how ridiculously nonsensical it is for "adults" going after minor children (Remember Letterman joking about Willow getting knocked up by A-Rod?)

Sure.

That's old news.  This is about conservative America's 1st family.  Every day proves they've picked the wrong horse.

Now the cub Palins are cyber-bullies:

http://www.slate.com/id/2275272/ (http://www.slate.com/id/2275272/)

Quote
The fight heats up when a guy named Matt jumps in. Matt apparently went to Teeland Middle School in Wasilla with Bristol. At first, Matt sticks to criticizing the TV show and the Palins' attitude: "man these Palins really don't like it when you don't admire them fully, well Im sorry that people don't like some programming," he writes in his initial post. But after Willow retorts, "Your effin fat as hell. ****," Matt responds in kind, calling Bristol fat. Willow replies: "Haha your so gay. I have no idea who you are. But what I've seen pictures of, your disgusting. My sister had a kid and is still hot." She adds, "Tre ****. Your such a friendly fellow." Other than the text-speak abbreviations (**** stands for shut the f*** up), this is all pretty timeless material. Kids have forever trotted out the gay and fat insults, though one likes to think it has become more taboo now to use the word friendly fellow, especially if you're the daughter of a public figure and you're posting the word in public.

I don't think "the sitch" would exist if had his mom practiced safe sex.

If they really want people to listen to the message they should have a picture of snookie with the tag line: "this could be your daughter"

Really?  If it were unprovoked, I'd say sure.  But Willow and Bristol brought this whole incident for the family on themselves.  If you're going to remove yourself from public life, that means the social media too.  You'd think that family would have a thicker skin.  Obviously that's not the case.

Except that he wasn't referring to Willow.  As everyone knows.  Except the ones who listen solely to Fox.

The Palin's are fantastic for the pop culture hounds.  They are "Married With Children" without the expense of real, talented actors!!  (Like most 'reality' show stuff out today.)

She's not an official candidate for President for 2012, yet MSNBC led a charge to review emails she sent and received as the governor of Alaska.  Just curious if the media had been so interested in President Obama's background if he would now be President?

http://www.cnn.com/2011/POLITICS/06/10/alaska.palin.emails/index.html?eref=rss_politics&utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+rss%2Fcnn_allpolitics+(RSS%3A+Politics)

For someone the Democrat Party portrays as a bumbling idiot, they sure spend a lot of time worrying about her.  I really wish they would show such concern with Democrat candidates.

IMO, I don't think she's suited to be POTUS or even VP.  I didn't feel she was well-suited as a running mate in 2008, but was willing to see if she would mature as a leader.  That lasted until her resignation from office.  However, it's hard to sit on the sidelines and say nothing about the weird obsession they have with her.  It's almost creepy.

I understand this is a pic of the swarming media waiting to get a look at these e-mails.

(http://cdn.theatlanticwire.com/img/upload/2011/06/10/palinemailselevator.jpg)

I used to play off PDS on pure misogyny, primarily because every knock on Obama was obviously racist. Now, since it is clear that she doesn't give 2 sh!ts about this or any other media criticism (and in fact gave the media a big FU during her last bus tour), I laugh it off. As for her suitability to be POTUS, that is up to each voter. What I do know is there was more of a swell by media and lefties of her being unqualified than our sitting president who had ZERO executive experience. We may never know whether Palin would be a decent president, mainly because I don't think she is running, or if she did run I don't know if she could win, but we now know Obama was certainly not qualified given the recently collapsing market, lousy unemployment rate, lousy housing numbers, all a direct result of what he did.

And for qualifications in general, here is what is required to be eligible:

    * be a natural born citizen of the United States;
    * be at least thirty-five years old;
    * have been a permanent resident in the United States for at least fourteen years.

That's it. I am just as eligible as Obama, and I have better qualifications. I have a B.S. and JD just like him. However, I have worked in the private sector for 20 plus years, supervised staff, run my own business, and have a damned decent military record. I suspect that many of us in here are better qualified than he was he was running for Pres. So I don't really get this "Palin is unqualified" for vice pres or for any government leadership position--especially given we have a former SNL comic in the freakin Senate. I seem to remember than in 2004 John Edwards was a VP candidate after just serving one term in the Senate and his claim to fame was being a trial lawyer. Did the media or anyone in here savage him like Palin over his flimsy resume? Maybe I should rethink this misogyny/bigotry thing again.

I forgot to add that the Washington Post, who asked its readers to help it sort through the e-mails to find "something", has a thread dedicated exclusively to Palin:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2011/06/10/AGbIKHPH_story.html

I really like the bombshell e-mail stating that she doesn't want alcohol in the gov. mansion.

I guess I should. I hear the Republic Party rocks. As for Palin, ignore her. That's all you have to do. That's all you Palin bashers have to do is ignore her. But you don't, or simply can't, and so she goes on living rent free in your heads. People couldn't even resist talking about her in Weiner's thread.

And I have never heard of IOKFYAR. A little help please. I know IOKIYAR means "it's ok if you're a republican".
