Title: Get your hands on your very own organ! Post by: Ed W on October 30, 2010, 01:05:10 pm (http://lh3.ggpht.com/_oET109EvqjE/TMxrfRgdY6I/AAAAAAAACos/MTv0qVBAQ2Y/PA300075_tn%20%282%29.jpg)
...and what were you thinking the photo would be? I blundered across this at the Community Thrift on Admiral. It's a treadle pump organ in remarkably good shape. I can vaguely remember on in our church when I was very small, but it never worked and it was replaced with an electric model. Title: Re: Get your hands on your very own organ! Title: Re: Get your hands on your very own organ! Post by: Ed W on November 02, 2010, 04:01:52 pm I think they were asking $500 for it, but Saturday was half price day, and it was knocked down to $250. The manager said it still worked, but it was missing a candleholder that went on a shelf in the middle. Apparently the panels on either side at the top could be removed and replaced with mirrors or photo frames. The carving is intricate and gorgeous.
There's a guy over at the flea market on the west side who does player pianos too. I have a photo somewhere. |
