Those are great...thank you for the suggestions.  Some I did not know, so lots of good eating to come.  I just remembered Siegi's has a deli area too....I wonder if they cook/cure/smoke the meat for Reubens  themselves?  Come 11:30 I am outta here for a reuben one way or another!

The New Yorker at The Hunt Club is an interesting twist on the Reuben- it's got home made cole slaw on it instead of kraut.  It's excellent and by far my favorite item on their menu.

Paddy's hasn't existed for 1 1/2 years.  They had great corned beef.

The reuben is my all-time favorite sandwich.  Probably one of the least healthy sandwiches ever created, but that is what makes it so good!  Thanks for all the heads-up.

I haven't had a much better reuben than one I have made myself at home, especially when grilled with my homemade rye bread fresh from my countertop bread machine.  And at 1/2 the cost of a restaurant version.

There was a bar in Oakmont, PA, that served an open-faced Reuben on a slab of rye about an inch thick, and then piled high with kraut, corned beef, and swiss cheese.  It was broiled and served with steak fries and a beer.  Heaven!

In Owasso, however, the only alternative (so far) is a pale imitation Reuben from McAllister's.  When you have a craving for a Reuben, it's exactly like handing an alcoholic a nice, tall glass of ice water.

I have a secret plan to only work 3 days a week next year, so me and MrK can Reuben our way through town for lunch once a week like these guys:
http://rowlandweb.com/reuben/schedule.asp (http://rowlandweb.com/reuben/schedule.asp)  What the heck...I'm a teacher, but priorities, people!  Kids vs. Reubens, Reubens win!  (Unless they are my own kids, i guess ???) JK

Don't throw things at me...I ended up at Siegei's because it was close and not busy.  The smell in there is amazing...
They do make their own corned beef and pastrami. I am going to buy a lb for this weekend.
No thousand island, just their house mustard.  It was very tasty.  I could have used a bit more corned beef but that is because I am a carnivore.  The whole thing was nicely toasted and the cheese was creamy and melted.  ****reubs.

Next on my list...Diamond Jacks.  I am writing down your suggestions!

I greatly miss Don's Polish Meat market.  That place smelled like heaven.  My maiden name was Polish and my parents first went in there in the early 80's.  He always gave me and my brother a Jello Pudding Pop  b/c of the "ski" factor.  20 years at least that I can remember going there.  A true craftsman and kind soul.

Thousand island on a reuben is like putting ketchup on a hot dog...just because people do it doesn't make it right.

Gotta be Russian, or some homemade Russian.  Thousand Island is put on Big Macs, if that says anything about it.

That's not Thousand Island, why that's "special sauce".  ::)

Go to Impressions.  Hands down, they serve the best reuben in town.

After that, try the Hunt Club.

Some of the places that are "famous" for their reubens are a joke.  Skimpy on the meat, too dry, no flavor, etc, etc.  These are sand-wishes, not sandwiches.  As in: "This is not what I wished for when I said 'reuben.'"

I had the Reuben at Ella's this week.

It was the best I think I have ever had.  (I loved the big band music being played too).

The only thing is they are only open 11-4. (What great hours if you can get them)

I was wanting to stop by after work and pick up a Reuben for my wife.   She likes Reuben's more than I do.  But I was told they close at 4pm.

We live in Owasso and she works from the house, soooooooooo, I will have to take her by there the next time she is in town seeing a client or when we are in town on a Saturday.

I have heard good things about the Reubens at Boston Deli.  I haven't tried them personally as I generally get their French Dip.

I decided to go to Diamond Jacks due to the recommendations off of here. I thought the place was very odd inside but i liked the extreme uniqueness of it. I was going to have a Reuben but they did not offer 1000 island which imo is a huge mistake. My fiance ordered a Reuben anyway with the House mayo which the server failed to inform us was in fact as close as you could get to 1000 island without actually being it. The Reuben comes on a French roll, which is very odd and a terrible choice for a Reuben. It should and always does come on rye at any other place I have ever been. I ordered a beef dip since I was told,"that's what they are known for" and was very disappointing when I took the first bite. It was probably the worst sandwich I have ever eaten, there was no flavor at all. It just tasted like old beef with no seasoning and the dip had barely any flavor either. Oh and you can only get regular chips and no substitute for the potato salad if you happen to not like it.All in all there is no way with all the awesome choices for sandwiches ( especially Reubens) that Tulsa has to offer I would ever go there again. As a side note i do have reference to what a good sandwich should taste like, I worked in two different family owned restaurants over the past 8 years that specialized in sandwiches, and they would of never served something like what  I received at Diamond Jacks......My pick for best Reuben in Tulsa is Ella's by TU, everything I've had there is great.

The travesty is using 1000 Island dressing on a Reuben.  It was always made for me using Russian dressing.  And I was told this is the dressing that was used in its earliest incarnations.

Waiting for the obligatory 'socialist' remark from the peanut gallery.

While yes the original dressing used on a Reuben is Russian, you must realize that almost all places use 1000 island now and there is very minimal differences between the two. Most restaurants would need to make their dressing homemade if they wanted to use Russian, and I can tell you from many years experience that it makes much more sense to use 1000 than make homemade Russian due to labor and shelf life issues. I've had equally really good Reubens with 1000 and Russian on it. The actual definition of Reuben sandwich lists Russian or 1000 island dressing.

While that may be your opinion, I respectfully must disagree about the minimal difference.  Russian and 1000 Island dressings are WORLDS apart...the Russian dressing simply makes the sandwich.

Your opinion is respected and noted, but I must disagree.

Similar problems exist with defining a Hoagie.  I grew up near Philadelphia, PA.  There are sandwiches called hoagies that aren't bad sandwiches (maybe even subs) but they aren't a Hoagie.  The first thing that is usually wrong is the bread.  A semi-hard crust and somewhat chewy middle are required.  Amoroso (brand) Italian Hoagie rolls are the real thing. (They are available overnight by Fed-X if there are any ex-Philly folks on the forum.  The same roll is used on a Philly Cheese Steak) The meats are available at Siegis and Pettys.  Then add some lettuce, onions, oregano, tomatoes, and olive oil. Some recipies say to mix red wine vinegar with the olive oil but I don't remember that.
