TPD....anyone hear that 1/2 the force is under some sort of scrutiny? Someone mentioned this will be a major story this coming week.
What gives?
Know nothing.
But, if I were to venture a guess, it'd be about
the staged 'fight' at the football game.

what purpose would a staged fight serve?
it's gotta be bigger than whatever that is....this involves up to 1/2 the entire force....
Heck, half of them were at the 'brawl' that wasn't.
The other half surely at least knew of it.
Probably need to question most.
As to purpose, before the news got out, TPS
had a new $1/ticket budget for their new police force.

The entire force is under scrutiny every day... by the citizens of Tulsa.
as it should be.
All such rumors are quashed in quick fashion where the internal investigation is made by only the foxes that take shifts guarding the hen house. Or a grand jury call that is taken over by the city legal department and present only certain facts.
Remember the placement of fire extinguisher in the trunk of each squad car for public safety yet in an inspection later not one was found?
I heard talk last month about the FBI looking into something but I don't know if it's the same thing.

No, I don't. Please provide us with more info and a source, please.
Things that might be looked at . . .
1) Recent shooting of a teenager at 61st.
2) The fight (what is this non-fight comment about?) at Booker T.
3) The drug selling cop.
On the surface, none of those things would warrant an investigation. Unless it turns out there was more to it (a pattern of shooting first, some conspiracy on the fight [maybe allowing the fight to advance to make arrests of wanted persons?], or a pattern of evidence missing from police evidence/not making it to the station). Let's hope the rumors are false, or if not, whatever the issue is it comes to light soon.

I have thousands of Tribune and World clippings and the details could possibly be found in their archives. It seems that was under Garren's watch as he was retired from the FBI and he made an effort to protect the commoners. It was one of the incidents that escaped the in-house censorship. It may have been in the days of the "Benny Blues".
Heard something involving the lottery coming out but might be a different rumor...
I called the police the other night and 3 cars showed up within 2 minutes and were all very professional and efficient..
Wait a minute, that's not ugly or a rumor.

Did you offer them free coffe and donutes to get them to show up so quickly? I've called in gunshots and haven't even got them here that fast.

They must know of your fetishes.

What? Offering donuts, or calling in crimes? Sorry, my fetishes are a bit kinkier then that.
I think FOTD must be a Gomez supporter. Why else would he object to asking if Gomez had switched parties to run for city council but then start a post slamming the police? It is rather obvious that Gomez added the "friendly amendment" as his reasoning why he voted for the police stimulus money when eevryone knows he doesn't support the police and firemen.
How can someone support a politician who is willing to risk public safety for his own political gain?
I drove by the Fire Union Hall tonight. Their Lighted sign out front says they support independent David Patrick, Democrats Maria Barnes and Dennis Troyer, and republican G.T. Bynum.

Apparently when you call in about a person, not moving, laying in the middle of an affluent neighborhood yard, they figure it's reason to be alarmed. EMSA was only 90 seconds behind.

Last time we call the police about someone tying a chain on an 6' industrial gate and completing destroying it taking thousands of dollars in equipment. One car showed up some 24 hours later with a HO-HUM officer to make a report. I wonder if the incident you cite was in one of the suburbs where that many cars are.

What a creep. FOTD NEVER SLAMMED THE POLICE. You are a bubblehead.

His own political gain is a politician's sole motivator.
24 police to be laid off....Ch. 5
Not that the Tulsa World will have much more information to share but a story runs Sunday http://www.tulsaworld.com/news/article.aspx?subjectid=14&articleid=20091031_297_0_Severa480380
The World has been sitting on the story from the rumor mills....and Dewey is worried about TA?
Crips and creeps.....

Well, I finally got a quick response time. They showed up on my call in 3 minutes
