Title: 16,000 added to ticket request list in OKC?
Post by: Laramie on July 29, 2008, 01:07:55 pm
16,000 people have been put on the season ticket request list in Oklahoma City?

Many of these people will want 2 or more season tickets; that means a conservative figure of 25,000 season ticket request.  The Ford Center's current NBA basketball capacity is 19,163.

The Daily Oklahoman:

OKC season ticket request tops 16,000By The Associated Press

OKLAHOMA CITY - More than 16,000 people have signed up to a season ticket request list for Oklahoma City's new NBA team.

Officials of the team formerly known as the Seattle SuperSonics said Sunday they have concluded the first phase of a season ticket request list. Those on the list signed up in just 16 days.

Team spokesman Dan Mahoney says officials are pleased with the level of support for the NBA in Oklahoma City. Mahoney says Oklahoma City's sales team will contact fans to provide specific ticket details.

The ticket request list remains open for future ticket opportunities, depending on availability.

It's a request. All it means is they signed up for a mailing list to be notified when they go on sale and how much they will cost.

If this is any indication of what's to come the Ford Center will be sold out before the season begins.

I called in after 11,000 signed up for  requests.

Just remember, we sold 12,000 season tickets in just three weeks when the New Orleans-Oklahoma City Hornets were here their second season!

This new NBA franchise will favor the State's name.
