It its coverage of the river development fight, KOTV (//%22http://kotv.com/news/local/story/?id=134389%22) oddly relegates opponents of the tax as 'bloggers.' Later in the story, KOTV notes that 52% of those polled oppose the tax. When the tax fails, will KOTV credit 'bloggers' or point to general economic conditions? Also, since when was the medium used to define the movement?
Regardless of the rolling out the big speakers of the pros and cons of the river development it becomes more smelly with the passing of each day. Today's new smell in the air is Tulsa's sanitary sewer disposal system on the river that has brought a near half a billion dollars in dire needs to the table for its removal and relocation, It is suggested that we remove it to the Jenks area. Jenks has been accused of smelly dealing by absorbing the higher income persons wanting to get out of Tulsa but I don't believe the moving of the sh*ty smell into their area will meet the criteria of expansion that they expected.
We have not been informed about the bathroom tissue manufacturing company on the river but they could recycle the paper that arrives for final disposal at the sewer disposal sight,
It all stems down to another half billion needed so we can get the 111 million in public donations. It may become cheaper to relocate the river to West of West Tulsa then everyone will get their whishes which could include a new Wal-Mart with a community parking lot.
Fix the river becomes a proposed solution for each generation except instead of using "It is for the children" they use it for "Increasing the Economy" which means "We need to get any saving of the working poor back into circulation."
I always thought "blogging" sounded like a term for constipated bowels movements.
I also always enjoy when people who have trouble accessing email use technical terms. It's cute.

Didn't you guy get the memo? Bloggers are a menace to western civilization. I mean, it's a bunch of people writing their own opinions of current events rather than relying on professional journalists and editorial writers to tell them what they should be thinking. Sure, there's that thing called freedom of speech, but sometimes freedom goes too far. When people can actually say what they're thinking, they step over the line and become subversive mothers. We can't have that. Thousands of American troops have died to protect our freedoms, and when those subversives use speech in whatever way they want, those sacrifices and those freedoms are diminished. Freedom is essential, but it's equally essential that it be limited, preferably by government decree. True freedom comes from the ability to think, write, and speak about just those topics that our betters choose for us.

On Robin William's "Man of the Year" he said a problem with TV is that everyone is presented as equals. Complete kooks are presented alongside seasoned experts. The same is true of blogs. DrudgeReport (basically a blog) is one of the most popular news sites on the internet, along with cnn.com, etc.
I like topical blogs where people will compile all the news on a game, sports team, or new technology. I generally refuse to read blogs and editiorials as they generally are not menat to educate, but just to provide the author a chance to kick up dust.

Besides, my research indicates you're study is incorrect.
People in general don't mind being taxed, so long as it is managed properly, produces the intended result and is fair.
Of course, around here people have never seen this, so they just seem to come off as anti-tax to those who think it a keen way to fund things (that's 'things' in the specific, not the general).

I appreciate your sincerity. I also can assure you that I read every Tulsa blogger I can find as often as they post. I think of meeciteewurkor, Bates, etc. I think of that Voices of Tulsa forum where I don't post because they just talk about BizarroTulsa where everyone gets mugged, and how bad immigrants are and how Tulsa is the next Detroit.
Show me the bloggers who are in favor of taxation for public development. Then we'll talk.

This may be the first time though that a disparate community of netizens are credited with being the official dissident voice of the people, with the ability to challenge the ability of the political establishment, Old Media, and well-landed class in their attempt to thwart the will of the people.
When a majority of Tulsans have formed a similar opinion on their own with the facts at hand, it is wierd for 'bloggers' to be singled out like that. It shows just a little fear and disdain for the power of the internet, and severe misunderstanding of what the average Tulsan is thinking and feeling.

i'd like to think what you say will come true, but the pro tax juggernaut is in full swing. it landed at my company today, which is one of the ones fronting some of the private money. at least they didnt ask for us to put a sign in our yard like BoK.
i have a bad feeling that this one will be close and will get stolen by the ones with strings to pull down at the election board.

I'm not sure what the average Tulsan is thinking. I doubt the reliability of the Ch6 poll. Even they note (rather timidly) that it is not scientific, which means your poll is as good as theirs. But even so, 52% is not a sweeping mandate against the tax and there is time to sway it 52% in favor. And remember, its a lot easier to be against anything than to promote it. That's why there are so many negative blogs all over the net.
I agree with you that it will be a close call with the measure passing. Even though I am unhappy with some features, I won't be crushed.
