Kinda.  None of the national presence that D-Fest had.

Hence the "local" moniker

Love the band name "Shi**y/Awesome".  That's hilarious.

Dante and the Hawks are listed but I can't find them on the schedule.

When D-fest began at 18th & Boston, it was supposed to be more of an indie affair and heavy on local bands, with some key A & R executives present wasn’t it?

I thought a national presence happened in later years and was one of the reasons it became unsustainable without major corporate sponsorship.

I guess that's true.  The year I played was the year that the lips played and it got really big.  I remember thinking that something that got that popular became somehow financially untenable sounded completely strange to me.  I just figured it was because of the yoga conference element.  I figured sombodies girlfriend convinced them to make it a yoga conference as well, they got over extended and could meet their bills.  Fuking yoga hippies....

That said, I'm glad to see that there is something going on.  Too bad I'm way burned out on live music.

It was a great event. It seemed pretty busy both nights.

Dang it!  If I'd heard something about it we would have headed out there after WildBrew!

How did the crowds compare to Reggaefest?  I’d heard Reggaefest attendance was slim compared to the old days.

Reggaefest tickets were $25 and up.

This fest was free (see the flyer). There were lots of people in the Dome District especially after the sun went down and it started to cool off. Every venue was packed (Fassler and JoeMomma's were SRO when I went in) and there were lots of people at the open air stages.

Can we have music festival in this town at a time when it doesn't feel like walking on the surface of the sun?

No doubt. We dropped my son off to go to a Drillers game with friends and we went over to the festival and it was just scorching.  It was still a good time but it was really, really hot.

Despite the heat it downtown as a whole was as busy as I have ever seen it, really impressive.
