The surest way to figure out the story is pure BS, was the sound byte on the radio where they said Lennon came to admire President Reagan. The fellow spilling the account neglects to realize President Reagan was still President-elect Reagan the night John was shot.
That is, unless the author of the story is simply referring to Reagan in his Presidential persona rather than President Elect or Former Governor Reagan. If that's the case, my bad.
Kudos Conan! You are on your toes today! There's no way JL had a right leaning bone in his body. If he were still alive, he'd been at the lead of the gay rights line, the woman's rights line, the immigration battle and on and on. The man was way out in front of our times. Now, forget you posted that last paragraph.
