We in no way needed to give him a bully pulpit to speak his evil and create his final aura as a martyr to Islam. He is dead, we can prove it, he can't speak, and he will never have a burial place to become a shrine, this is perfect.
Obama was very Presidential tonight. Gave credit to those who deserved it and reminded us what the War on Terror is all about. Kudos.

I thought we'd agree the biggest non-news story of the year in a way. Someone thought by many to be dead is in fact now dead. Someone, who, in the scheme of things has become almost irrelevant.
But I am not surprised by POTUS OBAMA's leadership to exterminate Usama.

Just because you cut off the head of the snake, doesn't mean it won't still bite you.
So they carried this through from a tip last August to a full fledged operation 9 months later -- today! -- that resulted in no loss of American life, no collateral damage (that we know of), and not only the death of Bin Laden but the recovery of his body. That's pretty much a 100% win. The lesson, I think: we can accomplish what we want when we set our minds to it.
Also: it's really fantastic to see people gathering spontaneously at the White House and cheering.

You have to wonder, how many of those troops were practicing bravery last night and how many were just outright after some vengence. Personally, I think if I was one of them, I would have been one of the latter.

That would certainly ruin the moment, but its possible the "mechanical difficulties" that caused the UH-60 to crash may have been related to gunfire it was reportedly receiving from below. Even if it's not as rosy as we would like, overall, it was still something that needed to be done. Saw Greitens being interviewed tonight by Piers Morgan (he's also been interviewed by many more), but was also a bit surprised to see Morgan introduce a Montana State Senator (Ryan Zinke) as a former member and Commander of a Seal Team Six unit. I have given Obama credit on this matter. But when I hear people equate this decision, which any of our presidents would likely have made, to the soldiers actually on the ground and facing death is just moronic. The courage of the Prez vs the courage of navy seals are two different deals, really . . . and the existence of one doesn't diminish the existence of the other. The seals obviously have to do amazing things under the threat of instant death. I haven't heard anyone dispute what they do as the pinnacle of a certain sort of warriorship. They're just badasses. Duh.
Obama essentially drove the ship of state straight into the jaws of another possible Carter-esque foreign policy failure. If both of the copters had gone down and everything went south in the manner of Desert One, that would've been the end of his presidency, right then and there . . . and our self esteem, and esteem in the eyes of the world would've gone south, too. He could've bombed the site from orbit, he could've sent in a pack of drones, he could've done a lot of things that weren't this straight up politically courageous.
He did a good job not only of taking out Bin Laden but then handling the aftermath (so far) in a way that keeps the Muslim world appeased while also making very public how decapitated Al Qaeda actually is now.

Did you read the quote that started this discussion: "But he [Obama] made that decision to go without telling Pakistan and that took some real courage, as much courage as our Navy SEALs did in pulling off a near flawless operation." Where's the distinction in the types of "courage" this idiot is talking about? Sounds to me that she is of the ilk that Obama personally took out Osama.
