Hell, I didn't like Bush at all but would never suggest that.
Stay classy now.

There's actually an arcade game to shoot Bush:
http://www.pictogame.com/en/play/game/QD6YUkALZTpM_shoot-george-bush
That's some real class. I'd say the disrespect for President Obama has been well (if not irrationally) earned over the eight years of abuse President Bush endured.
Even in jest, I don't think it's appropriate to talk about shooting POTUS.

Nobody's forgotten, but the abuse didn't start in earnest until he'd had time to earn it. Moreover, the republicans seem to have "forgotten" about the abuse heaped on Clinton. (I'm sure we could play this game all the way back to 1787)

Yes, the Jefferson vs Adams election was particularly nasty.
And right around our corner we find a freshman Republican congresswoman apologizing Thursday for telling a gathering in her district that the GOP was still searching for a "great white hope" to stop President Barack Obama's political agenda.
Ignore rant....

I don't know if all of you noticed, but our new president is a black guy. There are some Republicans, and even some Democrats who can't imagine how a black guy could become president of the United States. I mean, all the other Presidents have been white, Christian guys, and this one could be a communist, or a fascist, or a socialist, or a Muslim, or...well, so far at least, no one has accused him of being Jewish, but there's always next week.

Well, as Obama would say, this "typical white person" that has listened to Obama's white policeman "acted stupidly" comment and who accepted New Orleans race-baiting Mayor Nagin's "chocolate city" comment, what's your point?
Don't flatter yourself. You aren't even close to typical and we have to take your word as to your race.

Wow. Miss the point much?
The only points you make are filled with rage and hate for your commander-in-chief. It radiates outwards to include any liberal, most democrats, anyone who didn't serve in the military and those who make less money or have less education than yourself. Frankly, its boring and boorish. I only took a few minutes to let you know that. The constant hostility you and the right have towards Obama and democrats in general has turned this forum into a cynical, sarcastic exercise in futility.
I don't abhor your politics or deny your place at the table. In fact I used to really enjoy trying to determine just where and how those views were cultivated. But lately you have become hypocritical and aggressive. The best you can usually come up with is tantamount to children in the principals office: " They did it first! They started it! They're lying! They're stupid!" blah, blah, blah.
You remind me of why I don't read UT very much. An alternative newspaper should be just that. An alternative to mainstream, mass culture. The stuff they print and the stuff you post are so common and so conformist as to be boring. I don't come here to have right wing conservative thought pounded into my head. Tulsa has done that to me for 5 decades. I'm immune to it.
Anyway, thats why I seldom bother to post anymore. Between you and that Devil guy its like trying to get money from a banker for a good idea.
Was that on point?
NO!
The Devil guy does not think he should be clumped together in this minutia. He has constantly pointed out the poorly written in UT and also abhors the hate aimed at POTUS OBAMA and besides, why are all the protesters white? All of this certainly is racially motivated. So sad. So ignorant. The really ugly side of the gop shines so brightly.
The Treasury Department said that threats against the president have increased by 400% since Obama took office. Can anyone imagine a liberal Democrat standing up in a public meeting to say he was a proud left-wing terrorist? And then can anyone believe an elected official would congratulate him? Has a liberal Democrat armed with an assault rifle or a prominently displayed pistol ever showed up outside a meeting scheduled with the president?
These are not the acts of patriots. They are not the acts of Americans truly committed to the freedoms and ideals of this country, because that commitment requires an act of faith. It requires faith in the judgment of the greater electorate, sure in the knowledge that while our course may move to the left or the right, the end result is an electorate that corrects the excesses of every political swing.
Thugs with guns are not patriots. Shouting, angry mobs who stifle political dialog are not patriots. Elected officials who pander to them are not patriots.

I could not care less enough about your thoughts about me or what I believe in. For the eight years of the NAZI, fascist, Bush administration, I listened to incessant bashing of that commander in chief, repiglicans, and neocons. Where was your outrage when that was going on? So thicken up your skin now that the shoe is on the other foot. Incidentally, I applauded Obama's original position on the AIG bonuses and his visit to Iraq.
As for my issues with the military, education, and wealth, funny you would go there. These are the issues that beset the "warmonger" chanters who attacked our troops during the Iraq war (General Betray Us?) as well as those who suffer wealth envy. Everything I have, I earned. You are all for taking that from me and give it to some deadbeat or failure. Sorry if you cannot see how those issues are personal.
When I see people expressing outrage over the "angry mobs" at these town halls, I wonder if those same people in this forum were outraged over images such as this:

last time I checked, it bordered on treason to suggest shooting your CIC. Right? Or is that only when he's affiliated with

As a matter of fact, I was outraged by those images. The rest of your post seems to be like the children in the principals office. No comment there worth addressing. You obviously don't know me or pay much attention to my posts if you think I suffer wealth envy. I just don't like those who are doing well to castigate everyone else and assume their failure to progress as you think necessary is due to their sloth, ignorance or heritage. I also am irritated by anyone who thinks they "made it" by themselves without help from their government. That's who I am. I respected Reagan and was truly impressed with all that he accomplished even though most of it was counter to my beliefs. You can't say the same about a Kennedy or Obama.
Sorry FOTD for the slur of association. I merely mean that you both post incendiary, eye-poking posts that make your personalities become the focus rather than the issues.

People saying he wasn't elected legitimately started with the election. The real abuse didn't start until later. Hitler comparisons and other extremely distasteful things started around the time of the Patriot Act BS, and only got louder as more about his administration's civil liberties abuses came to light in 2003.
Calling someone stupid because they can't speak isn't very nice, but it's nothing like saying "Obama=Hitler" or calling him a socialist just because you disagree with Keynesian economics. Of course, IMO, socialist shouldn't be an insult at all, but after the cold war, socialism is very much conflated with the authoritarian politics of the Soviet Union in the minds of our electorate, so it is tantamount to calling someone Stalin.

I would vote for a black Republican as President and so far, every conservative I've talked to would as well. Look who heads up the RNC. That's not saying there are not racists on BOTH sides but they are really the minority these days. I pop off jokes to make sure and offend as many different ethnicities as possible. It's your P***Y, cry baby reactions that I'm looking for. I love letting you stupid, guilt ridden, white lefties get all bugged out and those of any other color, that can't laugh at yourself as well. You're idiots and you actually empower the perpetuation of racism. Stop giving power to the words. Oh, i forgot, you place much higher value on symbolism over substance. That's why you are Dims, so it won't ever change.
Martin Luther King Jr. implored us all to judge men, not by the color of their skin, but the content of their character. The Democratic party has don't NOTHING, but judge by color of skin, with racial quotas, voting for people specifically based on the color of their skin and passing legislation, to increase their votes, instead of doing whatever might be best for the nation, based on color of skin or certain nationalities that are in the minority. I think Martin Luther King Jr. would be sick and ashamed at what you've become, especially those who do so, in his name.
I am utterly opposed to Barack Obama. If he were as white as Jimmy Carter I would like him no more and oppose him no less. He's a puppet and a Socialist/Communist and by the very values, (I use that term loosely) he promotes and upholds, I find his character and any who are still so blind as to support him, quite wanting. I will not be shamed in to silence with your accusations, like racist or "Global Warming Denier". That Sol Alinski, left wing, communist tactic never worked on me and now the rest of the nation is beginning to open their eyes to HIS play book and YOUR deceptions, in constantly using it. Now it's not working on them either. The independents and yes even the breath of fresh air, of a few Liberals, are starting to see the light and join us in opposition. As for the rest of you, WAKE UP! Right now you just look like birds of a commie feather. Barack is your one eyed king, because your Party exists in the Liberal land of the blind.

The Nation's Number One Amba$$ador to Stupid People Of Amerika!
"
Right-thinking Americans can only hope the country will survive the next 16 months of the Obama administration until Republicans can regain control of Congress, U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe said Wednesday." What an effing traitorous thing to imply. Inhofe needs to be called out for these hate comments and dealt with accordingly by the appropriate law enforcement.
"I never dreamed I would see an administration try to disavow all the things that have made this country different from all others," An outrageous falsehood. UnAmerican.
More stupidity: "Every institution that has made this country the greatest nation in the world is under attack,"
Totally oblivious to reality: "There has never been a case of torture there" and "He also said he continues to be proven correct in his claim that global climate change is a hoax. "More and more, with each month that goes by, more scientists agree with me," he said. "We are winning."
Wasteful radicalism over a failed system: Inhofe's third concern, he said, is that "Barack Obama is disarming America." He conceded that Obama requested more military spending, but he criticized the elimination of several weapons systems, including the F-22 fighter.

Jimmie Inhofe incites white people in Grove (his real neighborhood). Amazing no good Republicans call this heretic out for his lies and nonsense. You go GOPeer's!
Nobody else at TULSANERFDFORUM finds this ridiculous for a US Senator? His damaging, destructive flat out lies none of you care to comment on? But hamburgers and protesters at the Mayo and thread jackers are much more the subject at hand. What a bunch of unAmerican geeks roam here.
It's irresponsible, both Inhofe's comments and the failure of TNF participants to say STOP IT!
You should be ashamed to think for a minute you are patriots.

What good does saying "STOP IT" on a forum do? You should be out actively campaigning against him by supporting new leadership (like many of us on this forum already do), or even running for the office yourself. Instead, you find solace in moaning on the forum and complaining when most of us don't chime in. That's sad, because if you channelled your energy, you could be a real asset to a candidate.

You're not dumb. You have got to know that it is not apathy. It is resignation. Anyone with a clear head, a modicum of education and not subject to various stages of senility knows that Inhofe is probably mentally ill and dangerously stupid. I don't know about his prejudices but he is just one of the right wing's stooges who won't bow out gracefully.
Look, he keeps getting elected and not by small margins. That in mind, what benefit is there to keep pointing it out to his supporters and getting them all bothered about it? They apparently are the majority of the state. Undoubtedly they are of the character to punish those who keep saying the emperor is naked.
People are becoming a bit alarmed about the potential consequences of facing off against these morons from the groups you linked. When you see people willing to "kill liberals" or "take our country back" it tends to become personal. I have very little interest in engaging them and many of them post here. Of course they aren't brave enough to use their real names but they likely can find mine easy enough.

The key word may be "relatives". This starts when someone in your own family starts to spew Beck-isms, Rush-isms or anti-Obama rhetoric and no one stands up to suggest they may be misled. You can do that in family cause they usually want to remain on some sort of good terms. Name calling is usually at a minimum. No yelling or physical stuff. My mom has lost most of her Tulsa friends by speaking the common sense that years of experience has given her. However, she, and the rest of us never let politics separate us. The right wing of our family is aware that they are bringing a knife to a gun fight when they engage in discussion with her. She requires them to prove all of their assertions derived from the Fox network or local radio. At 80 years old, she is better informed than most of this forum. They have given up on me altogether. Lately, as they see the reality of bad health care policy reflected in our own family, they are starting to question the myths put forth by their right wing icons. I am always willing to challenge and question the motives of my (slightly left of center ;)) icons.
I won't criticize my own city for her racist, Bircher past or her conservative present. Others can do that a lot better than I can and frankly, it won't accomplish much anyway. It would be good to see Tulsa and the rest of the country behave more like family.

The Green Jobs Czar Van Jones is a "Troofer". Don't believe Beck, look here: http://www.washingtontimes.com/weblogs/back-story/2009/sep/03/green-jobs-czar-signed-truther-statement-in-2004/
Here's Jones' "excuse" as to why he signed the troofer petition:

How long before Jones finds himself under the Obama bus?
Republicans are destroying this country!
Powder Keg http://thepoliticalcarnival.blogspot.com/2009/09/were-sitting-on-powder-keg-special.html
"In July, I wrote that I haven't seen so much hate in this country since the Civil Rights movement. Since then the hate and anger has only gotten worse, and it will continue to get worse. You may wonder why I feel this way and what makes me upset about this hate and anger.
I get upset, when commentators are allowed to call the President Obama a "racist", compare him to Hitler, question his place of birth-- with no disciplinary action taken by the media outlet.
I get upset when sponsors have removed their advertisements because of "racist "remarks and the viewing audience continue to grow. These commentators by their words and actions have encouraged mob rule at Town Hall meetings, instead of encouraging real discussions about the issues.
Their encouragement has led to demonstrators appear outside Town Hall meetings carrying signs " It's time to water the tree of liberty"?", showing President Obama with a Hitler style mustache, questioning his religion; and demonstrators carrying loaded guns to the events. All this indicates to me they are directing their programs to a very narrow minded group of people.
I get upset when you have Republicans, discussing the Health Care Reform Bill, make misleading remarks and misrepresent provisions in the bill by making such statements as "pulling the plug on grandma", "Death Panels" Death Book", or such a ludicrous statement as, "What we have to do today is make a covenant, to slit our wrists, be blood brothers on this thing. This will not pass. We will do whatever it takes to make sure this doesn't pass."
These statements are made to frighten and scare their constituents and to rile their base.
When I take into consideration the hate being spewed by the right wing media together with the misleading and misrepresentations made by the GOP about the Health Care bill I have come to the conclusion: This country is sitting on a powder keg that I think is ready to explode. When it does, no good will come from it. I hope our politicians come to their senses and turn the country away from the hate and anger we are seeing.
While there have been Democrats in both the House and the Senate who indicated they may vote against a HCR Bill, not one Republican has indicated they will vote in favor, I find it extremely hard to believe that not one Republican favors a HCR Bill with a public option.
Then there are the politicians who promote that their state should secede from the Union.
We have become a nation where party comes first before the people."
Well if DEMOCRACY NOW! is upset, then that changes everything. And you have the audacity to bash Faux News.

White House lukewarm on Van Jones after his "9/11 Truth" petition signature surfaces -- but Newsom "stands by him
http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/nov05election/detail?entry_id=46917
Jones, who once oversaw Bay Area PoliceWatch while at the Ella Baker Center here, has become the subject of Van Jones Employment at the White House Watch. At least over at Fox, he is. The right is still smarting from ColorofChange (which Jones co-founded) leading an advertiser boycott of Fox commentator Glenn Beck.>
While Jones' lefty past gets a shrug in many parts of liberal SF, it doesn't in much of the rest of the country. A quick gander at the list of signatures with Jones reveal an All-Star cast of Bay Area lefties: Code Pink co-founder Medea Benjamin, Global Exchange co-founder Kevin Danaher, Smith and Hawken founder Paul Hawken, Daniel Ellsberg and musician Michael Franti. But Jones didn't work for the White House then.
Indeed, as Van has transitioned from street activist to green champion -- the Yale Law grad is the first African-American to pen an enviro book that hit the NY Times best-seller list -- he's picked up a ton of A-list friends. Like, well, President Obama.
Guess who else is a big fan of Van: (Besides Al Gore.) SF Mayor and CA Gov. candidate Gavin Newsom. The Mayor described Van "a superstar" to us before he introduced him at the 2008 Netroots Nation (Daily Kos) conference.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
But did you hear Newsom's ex-wife -- and Fox News commentator -- Kimberly Guilfoyle dish on Jones to Sean Hannity?
"Clearly he wasn't vetted," Guilfoyle said. "All they had to do was go and ask a couple of questions in San Francisco about this individual. You know there's a problem when he's not even wanted in the city of San Francisco where I come from. OK?"
She doesn't say who doesn't want him in SF. No matter. Kim's got more to dish.
"This is someone who actually just doesn't even like the United States of America, wants to reshape it, remake it into something that we would not even recognize, and what's so wrong with this country that we have an individual like this coming in, meddling in our affairs that has no idea what he is doing, who really is traitorous in his comments against this country," she said.
Doesn't like America? Kim doesn't explain why Jones would then work for the country he hates at its highest levels.

I don't know. Let's call Sarah Palin and get her opinion on witch hunts. As for Van Jones, here's the latest beginning at approx 3:40 (language warning):
So I guess in RUF's world a self-professed communist, troofer, and well-documented bigot having the ear of the president is a good thing, eh?
Here's a news story summarizing the past week of Jones coverage (yes, it's faux news):

I think it's good to have a variety of opinions surrounding me, even those I disagree with.
P.S. This comment presumes Fox News is being truthful, which is not at all a given
Gweed's drinking Glenn Beck's koolaid again...

"What the heck does this have to do with green jobs?" Beck and the Van Jones opponents still have yet to point me to one actual statement or decision by Van Jones since he has been in office which show he is a communist, or racist, or tyrant, or conspiracy theorist. Why are we not focusing on the actual job Van Jones is doing rather than completely unrelated facts?
Ultimately I find the weakness of Beck's argument comes from his arguments in the past. Beck condemns the 9/11 Truth Organization and Van Jones for allegedly believing these crazy conspiracy theories yet he uses the same reasoning for his conspiracy theories. Beck consistently "proves" that the Obama administration is establishing a tyranny by merely asking "questions." When the questions go unanswered because they are too ridiculous to answer Beck counts that as confirmation of his theory just like the 9/11 Truth Organization. Look to this Beck segment on the alleged "civilian national security force" as an example.
Beck also condemns Van Jones for allegedly believing that our government was capable of such a heinous act as perpetrating the death of thousands, yet Beck himself consistently suggests to his audience that the Obama administration wants an "emergency" in order to seize power. Beck's conspiracy theories actually match up quite well with the reasoning of the 9/11 Truth Organization. Beck has even gone as far as to suggest that President Obama's health care reform will be part of some overall Nazi eugenics program. So if we condemn Van Jones for giving the 9/11 Truth Organization credence, must we not also condemn Beck for giving his own scary theories credence?
Glenn Beck's Crazy Lies About Van Jones
By Eva Paterson, Equal Justice Society. Posted August 31, 2009.
Glenn Beck spent last week smearing Van Jones with misinformation and outright lies. Here's setting the record straight.

Yeah, that Katie Couric interview, some witch hunt that was... ::)

Ironic you should bring up Sarah Palin, since she's the one who went "rogue" in the campaign by going on her own witch hunts....
"Our opponent . . . is someone who sees America, it seems, as being so imperfect, imperfect enough, that he's palling around with terrorists who would target their own country."
"This is not a man who sees America as you see America and as I see America." --Sarah Palin, October 2008
"The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama's 'death panel' so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their 'level of productivity in society,' whether they are worthy of health care. Such a system is downright evil." –-Sarah Palin, in a message posted on Facebook about Obama's health care plan, Aug. 12, 2009

Every time this devil gets disappointed with Obama, the republicans remind me why FOTD must support him even when this devil disagrees with some of PO's policies. We are in a war against the evils of racism and greed and we are the majority. We must not forget this and despair over the onslaught of hatred.
It's just one lost battle in the great good fight, brother Guido.
