Good to see it. Now if they'd kill the octuplet story and the Alaska governor thing I'd turn CNN back on.

Why? Because she's a plumber way over her head or because his son was killed in a war he doesn't agree with?

Agreed. While I never really approved of her methods, at least her motives were sound. Losing a child in a war that pretty much now has proven to be unnecessary as far as what the primary objective was (ridding Iraq of WMD) would ring hollow to me if I were a parent. I'd of course still be proud of my child's service, but imagine what the parents are going through. Any immediate family for that matter. I've seen the effects firsthand on a family I'm close to. Friends feel helpless to do anything but say 'sorry'. It stinks.
Somehow I'm guessing the majority of posters on this forum have never felt that pain (pain of losing a child).

Sheehan whored out her son's honorable death for personal gain--nothing more. What did her son's death have to do with her cozying up to that thug Hugo Chavez and the commie Bob Avakian? Absolutely nothing.
As for JTP, while I agree his time in the limelight is close to ending, he did not initiate it. Obama approached him and made a stupid statement. Then, JTP had state officials dig through his personal life trying to find dirt to either discredit him (as if he said something wrong) or to humiliate him. I dare say many in this forum abhor abusive government practices. Curious how we only hear crickets when the victim is a conservative, isn't it?

Wow, you're saying now it's the Dems and by proxy the current President's fault that this guy was shoved in the spotlight? How about the 42 times McCain referenced him in one of the Presidential debates? How about inviting him out on the campaign trail? Remember how disgusted he got with it all?
Evidently not disgusted enough.
And if your inference is that JTP had his records gone over by the Obama campaign, that was already shut down. The media did all that. But I'm sure you'll just say that the media is a shill for our current administration.
Jeez, you're morphing into a conservative version of AOX/FOTD/whatever. It's a little amusing actually.

Haha...only reason I did that is because I ran out of space in the subject line.

Our very own little Glen Beck with a lot of Sean Hannity thrown in.

It probably won't even matter, Joiei; he probably still has me on ignore.

Sheehan was/is a great/horrible example of whoring for attention. IMHO, the attention was far more important than the cause for dear ole' Cindy. Just like it is for Joe.
If they can burn bright enough for long enough, they can rake in some exposure, a couple bucks from appearance fees, and maybe hit a home run book deal down the road. Using politics to create celebrity. They have no particular incite into the topic (this includes Cindy. Ones son dying in the war doesn't actually make you an expert on the conflict. She gets my sympathy and her son gets my respect) so remain like the celebrities who think their opinions matter more than someone elses. . .

Why do we always assume the worst motives for someone like Sheehan? She ran on the Green Party ticket in San Francisco against Nancy Pelosi and lost. That alone shows that she's still following an idealist's path. She's certainly not in it for the money. If she was, she'd be hanging with centrist Dems who have ties to lobbying groups and corporate sponsorships, etc. The Green Party sure ain't where the sweet deals are.
I'm not assuming anything. I'm forming a judgment of her based on her actions. To me it seems like she will do anything to get a camera on her. I may very well be wrong, it is merely my opinion.

I didn't really hear anything stupid. One stupid thing is to think that somebody making 40k a year is going to be able to buy out a successful business making $270k a year. Depending on the amount of work the owner does the business is worth several million. Unless JTP is like a son to him (and of course if he had a license) he couldn't afford the business. Actually the taxes he is complaining about would help him buy the business in the first place. 1) he would bring home more money at his current 40k salary. 2) According to everybody that is a Republican if the guy making the 270k got taxes another 3% on the extra 20k or $600 more in taxes. He would give up and sell his business because it just was't worth it any more. And would decrease the value of the business so that JTP could buy it. Then when the next Republican came in (as long as he made over 250k) he would get a tax cut.

That's because her mistaken assumption is that if she can just talk to people, they will realize the error of their ways and support her point of view. She is an idealist. One who believes we as a population are actually reasonable and can be convinced to change our minds, which is generally false. As is her assumption that making people realize the war in Iraq is a bad idea will actually end it.
And now JTP is suing those Ohio bureaucrats that dug into his background because he had the audacity to question Obama:

Probably because he's not making jack squat from his book sales. Minute 17 is upon him.
