Title: And I thought only Palin hated them there Jews...
Post by: iplaw on October 14, 2008, 03:29:12 PM
The Obama campaign has got to be ready to explode over this one.  Is the good reverend TRYING to throw the campaign for Obama?

I have never heard Jackson sound so much like Farrakhan before.

The most important change would occur in the Middle East, where "decades of putting Israel's interests first" would end.

Jackson believes that, although "Zionists who have controlled American policy for decades" remain strong, they'll lose a great deal of their clout when Barack Obama enters the White House.

Lewis, Jackson and Farrakhan are creating unneeded static for the Obama campaign.  Are these guys so out of touch that they believe comments like these help Obama?

Do you believe that informed voters even use this as a basis to make their decisions?  This is the second post where you're using third party endorsements and treating them like the campaign is going to use them to their advantage.

You're stirring the pot locally, which isn't surprising, seeing that McSame is down double-digits in the polls nationally now.  Although ultimately it won't matter as far as OK and her 7 EVs are concerned, those belong to the angry old man.

And it's not like everyone doesn't know that the NY Post is owned by Faux News owner Rupert Murdoch.  Ya don't think that doesn't make the paper biased, do ya?

Hoss:

Please employ some critical reading skills.  Just as in my first post that you compalined about, I am NOT linking the statments to Obama.  There is NO reference to Obama supporting or endorsing those statements, nor did I say he did.  The statements reflect a belief about Israel that Jackson, Wright, and Farrakhan hold in common.

As for you balking at the NY Post, the quotes are his own words.  We don't need someone else to interpret them to understand his anti-semitic comments.

Here is a UAE paper carrying the same quotes.  I'm sure they're in the tank for the GOP.

Lastly, one or two polls have McCain down double digits in the last two days, most have it at 5 to 6 points.

You go Hoss.  Tell it like it is.

You know, with all the beat down working people in Oklahoma you'd think we would vote Democrat.  Isn't the countryside crawling with Democrats?  Let's make a long range commitment to push Oklahoma into the Democrat's camp.

Yeah.  Good luck with that one Hometown...maybe you should go back to San Fran where you'd be more at home?

I use factcheck.org and www.fivethirtyeight.com to get my polling.  There are polls showing him down in the double digits.  I never said you were linking them to Obama, I said you're treating them like the Obama campaign would use them to their advantage.  Never said you were linking them together.  Why don't YOU take a remedial reading course.

As far as the posts you're starting, you're beginning to resemble FOTD a bit with the bolding of pertinent phrases and such, as well as the posting of information really not relevant.

Make sure my comparison doesn't make your head explode.

Pardon the ad-hominem, but you're an idiot.

If someone doesn't think or have the same beliefs as you do, you automatically berate them.

You fit well with the McCain supporters, especially the ones who put Obama stickers on stuffed monkeys and yell 'off with his head'.

Sheesh.

You don't have to apologize.  I don't mind it that you don't like me.  I take insults as compliments when they come from people like you and pmcalk.  The louder you or her squeal when I post something is generally a good barometer of where I should stand on an issue.

As for your moronic assertion that I'm racist.  I have never, and will never post racist comments on this forum or anywhere else.  If you can provide me with any post that I have ever typed on this forum that was racist I will apologize to everyone.

If you can't, you should apologize for being a race baiter and liar.

Feelin' mighty guilty are we because of my comparison?

Are you saying McCain supporters like the one I referenced are racist?  I never said nor intonated that.  If you'd seen the video of the guy I referenced, that guy was obviously an idiot.  Hence my 'ad hominem'.

And this is the second time I've pointed out to you that nowhere in the post does it say that I thought the Obama campaign would "use them to their advantage."  This is your assumption of my intention and it is incorrect.

And I guess by your logic, since I only look at IBD/TIPP Tracking the race is really only a 2 point advantage for Obama...

I deleted a longer response...but essentially, the retort was of your hypocritical nature.

This comes from someone who purports to be an attorney.  Also coming from someone who has used inferences about my mother during an online argument.

That's adult.

Andrew Rice had a chance to do just that... but he hasn't presented how he contrasts to Obama.

A huge number of the "beat down working people" still have connections both directly and indirectly to the oil industry.  They will likely vote republican on the basis of one single issue:  their jobs.  Many of them defy stereotype and don't "cling to guns or religion"...

I have no idea why Rice hasn't brought up ideas for the future of Oklahoma's "energy" industry and criticized Obama's partisan case for continued ethanol subsidies...

Go figure.

Really?

Is it really news that Jackson, Wright and Sharpton are antisemitic?  I thought this had been well established long ago, and generally ignored.  And I'm not talking about the debatable issue of aid to Israel, I mean good ole' fashion antisemites.

BUT... with "leaders" like this it is no wonder we haven't seen a meaningful advancement of colored people.  Lets blame the government.  White people?  Jews?  Crap, if we run out of people to blame and still don't fix the problem everyone might figure out out leadership is worthless.

I knew about FaraKKKhan and Father Pflager's antisemitic comments, but honestly I don't pay attention to Jack$on or $harpton.

I don't really know where Obama stands on Israel since he is on record saying both that Jerusalem should remain undivided and that the status of Jerusalem would be "negotiatied in future peace talks."

I do know that he sat in Wright's pews for 20 years and that FaraKKKhan received the "Rev. Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr. Lifetime Achievement Trumpeteer" Award, whatever the hell that is. FaraKKKhan has called Judaism a "gutter religion."

I'm sure this is all a distraction though.  I'm sure that Wright never heard those statements from FaraKKKhan, just like Obama never heard Wright's anti-american rants...

I think a pattern is emerging.

I can take every bit of the heat.  I'm just pointing out how asinine and juvenile you appear on many of your posts.

And obviously, I'm not the only one who has made that assessment.

But if you get your kicks playin' on these forums by saying things you obviously wouldn't say to people's faces, that's fine by me.  I'm not the one who doesn't use his real name in his profile.

You'd engender more sympathy from me if you weren't equally as assinine and hackish. I just choose not to cry about it. In fact, it's the MO of most people who post in this forum to snipe and be overly partisan.  I know of several other posters who think you're obnoxious as well, so two can play the argument ad populum game.

BTW, how do you know I'm not just as vocal in person.  Have we met?

I'd be worried if this were a popularity contest.   Guess what.  It ain't.

And I've worked in the 'internet' business now for about 12 years, so I know what's safe and what isn't.

Of course, calling yourself Rev Wright lets me know you think you're cute.

I know many posters who have already voiced they know you're obnoxious, and those that haven't I know a few offline who do.  You dispense with the ad-hominems like they're pennies.

For the same reason we spend money on defense projects, intelligence gathering and variety of other national security projects. Israel is the only strongly democratic voice in the region and their survival and hence the stability of the region depend, in large part, on their strength and stability.

Deja vu all over again.  Every four years, the republicans try to win over the Jewish vote by claiming that the democrats will be less friendly to Isreal.  It doesn't work--Jews consistently vote for democrats--voting for Kerry by 78%.  This year, McCain actually had a shot at winning over some over, mostly because Jews take very seriously accusations that Obama is a Muslim (not that I fault them on that).

But McCain's choice of Palin completely eliminated that potential, and probably cost him Florida.  The only thing more frightening to Jews than a Muslim is a right-wing anti-intellectual religious zealot.  From Newsweek:

quote:

Like many Jews in south Florida, Todd and Jamie Ehrenreich are registered Democrats who have faithfully cast ballots for their party's presidential nominees as long as they can remember. But this year, they'd decided to back Sen. John McCain, the Republican candidate. "We are over the $250,000 tax bracket, and we didn't want to lose our money," Jamie says. "We wanted to benefit from our own American dream."

Then McCain selected Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate—and "lost us in one fell swoop," says Jamie, who lives with her husband and two kids in Miami. She finds so much about Palin objectionable that she almost doesn't know where to begin. There's the abortion issue, for one. Palin "wouldn't want anyone to have an abortion even for rape or incest," says Jamie. "Who is she to judge by telling me how to live my life and overturning the things women have worked so hard for?" Equally disconcerting is Palin's seeming shallowness on some of the most pressing matters facing the country. "She doesn't know what she is talking about and makes it up as she goes along," says Jamie. "The fact that she had to be coached for two weeks [to prepare for the vice presidential debate] tells me she doesn't know anything. She just talks in circles."

Quoting from Westbrook Pegler ("we grow good people in our small towns"), who was kicked out of the John Birch society for being too anti-semitic, certainly didn't endear her to Jews.

So now that McCain is down in the polls in Florida, people like IP are trying to tie Obama to any antisemitic black person they can think of.
Title: And I thought only Palin hated them there Jews...

I don't have to "tie" him to any of these baffoons.  He's openly associated himself with them for his entire political career.
