We had a cat show up in our yard on Friday and it won't go away. We can't keep it because we are allergic. It looks almost starved, but my wife says it was recently spayed.
Who do I call to come get it ASAP? TAS isn't open on Mondays and Paws isn't taking animals.
You might call StreetCats (http://www.streetcatstulsa.org/), 298-0104.
Gunny sack...21st St. Bridge... that's one way.
Remind me to throw Conan off a bridge next time I see him.
Put some food out for it at least.
Cant be so allergic to it being an outside kitty.
Animal Control?
My mom caught and spayed all the feral cats in her neighborhood. Must have cost around a thousands dollars to do them all, even after the vet helped her cause (10 cats over 5 or 6 years?). This after years of trying to catch them and adopt them out... they breed to fast!
In the end the population of wild cats went way down as the resident cats stopped breeding. Not sure if her efforts are fruitful overall or not, but gotta applaud the effort.
I would very much like to 'adopt' an outdoor cat. Just feed it and keep it hanging around. But I know I would feel bad and the damn thing would be inside in a hurry. Plus the dogs probably wouldn't like it too much.
per your problem, the Street Cats website looks like a good organization. Call them and ask.
Street cats recording says they aren't taking any cats right now. Is the Animal Shelter the same as Animal Control? The Animal Shelter isn't even open on Mondays.

as long as I am behind you to push.
You might try Southern Agriculture. The one here in Owasso referred a neighbor to a cat rescue group (Zoe?) and took some feral kittens. they want a donation, of course, but at least the animals get veterinary care.
