I want to rent a dumpster to tear off my old roof - anyone know who to call and what they might charge?
Trying to think of the place I ride by every day on SW Blvd. I think it's American Waste. Funny when you ride or drive by a place everyday it's "just there". [;)]
They have quite a few roll-off dumpsters on their lot and they don't look all beat up. Other than that try the yellow pages.
I used American Waste about 6yrs ago, but don't remember the price. It seems like it was around $150 for two loads. They came and emptied it once! They backed down the drive and put it right by the garage!
RecycMike could probably give a good referral!
Yellow Book listings (//%22http://www.superpages.com/yellowpages/C-Garbage+Containers/S-OK/T-Tulsa/%22)
Going rate, based on what I'm paying at our construction site, is about $200 per dumpster.
There are a number of local companies that can provide a roll-off dumpster.
I do or have done business with American Waste, National Waste, Allied Waste, Gator containers, Smithey Environmental, Tulsa Ash Haulers and Waste Management.
The prices have gone up and now there is a state solid waste fee added per ton. I would shop around and expect to pay between 250 and 350 dollars per dumpster load.
I would also make sure and secure it so your neighbors don't fill it with trash.
Wouldn't it would be great if Tulsa had a recycling program similar to Austin (//%22http://www.bizjournals.com/austin/stories/2008/06/09/daily45.html?ana=from_rss%22)
Why aren't we doing this?
American Waste is a local company with their own facilities. I have done business with them and recommend them highly.
I had some bad experiences with Allied Waste, they were bought by some larger conglomerate and things went south.
Just call American Waste and get a rate. I'd imagine the rates are closer to $140 per pickup, but that's a shot in the dark. Fuel and the closure of the trash to energy plant have not been good to the industry

[edit]I called American Waste:
30 Yard Roll-Off
in Tulsa
Roofing material (charged by weight, so this gives a decent estimate)
One week
= about $375.
If you need it longer than 1 week it's $2 per day. Price could go up or down a little depending on weight. Roofing material makes for heavy loads and that's what the estimate is on.
