In the paper last week.  Found the images on the same site as the Lofts development.

Hmm, now thats not at all the design the developer had shown as his "idea" for the area and how the businesses could look. He had the buildings looking more like the Wild Oats center, the strip across from it and those new apartments that are going in behind there.

 Both of those designs are nice, though very interesting. The style is kind of classic and old timey, but in particular they remind me of what you would see small warehouses, a factory, or industrial buildings of a certain time period looking like. The "Waterworks" building comes to mind. Interesting choice of design.

Wild Oats' center was more of a Tudor motif, yes?

Yeah, this is a Bob David-Leadership Properties deal.  He only does permanent architecture.  

He spends a lot of money to make sure his buildings last (stone, rock, copper gutters, high-end windows).  Energy efficiency.

He does residential development too.  Big ego, but he uses it for good.
