12.4 million in new moneys from the Kaiser Foundation to shore up some big plans for improvements to the trail system - all well and good, but wait.  Did anyone notice the conspicuous material to be used for part of the trail?  
"A portion of the pedestrian path also will have a strip of the chat material"
Chat is what folks in NE OK, SE KS, and SW MO like to call the mountains of waste rock leftover from the lead mines of WWII.  These tailings contain lead, cadmium, and Zink and are the center of attention (aside from sink holes)in the Tar Creek areas!  
Is THIS the material they are referring too?

Beautiful additions to the park are a good thing.

New gathering areas and vastly improved trails are a good thing.

Having an angel like Kaiser put his own money into something that benefits us all is a good thing.

More will come.
