Loyola Chicago's Porter Moser hired as
Oklahoma men's basketball coach. At 101 year old, Sister Jean Dolores Schmidt, says she’s not the first person she knows who has lived an entire century. "I called her right away," Moser said. "She emailed me as well. We love her. It's been hard. We'll be friends for life. The program is going to be in great hands with Drew Valentine. The players are there. Just tremendous people. But Sister Jean is a treasure. We'll be friends for life ... as long as we don't play against each other, I think she'll root for the Oklahoma Sooners." Oklahoma Sooners at Tulane Green Wave game has been moved to Norman.
August 30, 2021 First and foremost, my thoughts are with those in Southern Louisiana impacted by Hurricane Ida and to all those bravely responding to help. The health and safety of our citizens and of our first responders will remain our primary focus. In light of the catastrophic damage sustained by the City of New Orleans and, after consulting with our emergency preparedness and response teams at the institutional, local and state levels, we will relocate our September 4 football game against the University of Oklahoma to Norman, Oklahoma. While game time will remain 11:00 AM, television information and other game-specific details will be announced by the University of Oklahoma. We appreciate the understanding, support and communication with the University of Oklahoma, especially Director of Athletics Joe Castiglione. 85,000 seat Gaylord Family Memorial Stadium, Norman.30,000 seat, Yulman Stadium, New Orleans We have moved all Tulane athletic department operations to Birmingham, Alabama, including our student-athletes, and we will remain in Birmingham until it is safe to return to New Orleans. I want to thank UAB Director of Athletics Mark Ingram, Alabama Director of Athletics Greg Byrne and the City of Birmingham for receiving our student-athletes, coaches, staff and families. The status of future home competitions in football and volleyball will be determined in the days ahead. Once again, our thoughts and prayers are with all of those impacted by this devastating storm.

3,000-seat ballpark complex for women's softball. OU made official Thursday what has been known behind the scenes for a few months — Love’s Travel Stops is making a donation that could be as large as $12 million for the building of a new softball stadium. Oklahoma Board of Regents approved (three years ago) the proposal for that new facility. But with a $27 million price tag, a pandemic hitting athletics hard and an athletic department philosophy at OU not to start any major project until money is in hand, the plans remained on hold.
