Title: Waterpark being developed just off 75
Post by: Ibanez on April 15, 2008, 01:56:14 pm
From what I was told last night by a guy who is doing the grading and dirt work at the site there is a water park going in on the East side of 75 just North of the Duck Creek Casino.

Said there is also going to be a 60 to 75 room hotel, an RV park and some restaurants going in there.

Apparently the developer is out of Florida. It isn't a "Big Splash" type of park although it does have slides and what not, the main focus is supposed to be several 1/2 mile long "ski ponds" where you are pulled via a mechanized pulley system and a large "surf pool" where you can surf, wakeboard and even kayak.

Anyone else heard of this development?

Small Hotel + RV Park + Waterpark = Fail

So far it has anyway.

Ok. I found the place the guy doing the dirt work mentioned last night. This is the developer's park in Orlando.

I'd be interested to see if they are building something of that scale.

I'm also not really sure if 241st counts as "Tulsa"

I talked to the dozer operator again tonight.

It isn't part of the Casino, just happens to be near it because the land was cheap. From what the guy told him it is actually going to be larger than the Orlando park and will have 3 of the cable run areas and the large surfing area. Apparently that area is sort of like the wave pool at Big Splash but on a much larger scale giving people the ability to actually surf some large waves.

Apparently there are 3 local investors involved with this. Dozer guy didn't know their names, just that he was told there were local people helping with the funding.

The sustainable loft developer mentioned developing a 47 acre tract of land in way north Tulsa into a green housing subdivision. Is this near-by?
