My question, nobody on here will be surprised, would concern pedestrian friendly development.
Perhaps…
What will you do to encourage Tulsa's core to become more pedestrian friendly in order to compete with other cities who are attracting and growing more jobs, and increasing tax revenue, like Salt Lake City, and even Denver whose city council recently stated it's TOP, #1 priority is “ transit and multi-modal transportation investments "?
District 4 would be the perfect forum for it, Artist. |

I am always interested in how people are willing to take in new info and change their minds if needed, so:
"Tell us about a city policy issue that you have changed your mind about in the last few years. What made you change your mind?"
Im also interested in public transport, so:
"What does 'effective public transportation' mean in Tulsa. What will you do to ensure that we are meeting this definition?"
I worded that question that way because its to easy to have different definitions of effective public transportation. If your idea of effective is cheap as possible then its easy, cut the budget. We have to know how people define the words they say to be able to evaluate what they will do in office.

I would like to know how the candidates feel about a different or additional source for funding local government rather than just depending mostly on sales tax. Specifically, how do they feel about a city income tax?

I like the question. Sales tax works well in tourist areas, but it is prone to swings in revenue and has been ridden for a while for city finances.
I hope that all candidates for city office can find new, yet fair ways to pay for everything.
I plan to attend this TulsaNow forum on Wednesday, June 4th.
My question to all of you, what could we do to help promote this and get a good crowd. I think it is important for TulsaNow to lead such civic discussions and a good crowd will help.

We believe that Tulsa, as a general rule, needs less lanes rather than more and that the hundreds of millions currently being spent on roads is the opposite of fiscal conservatism. This is especially true in District 4 where a need for more transit, pedestrian and biking focus is most greatly felt. What do you mean by "road development" and how does that feeling relate to D4 and the city as a whole?

One serious issue that needs to get addressed very soon is the River Casino Driveway & the Jogging Trail that area is getting more busy with both cars and runners, it's a serious accident waiting to happen. They need to put this issue on the front burner and re-locate the jogging trail to the back of the casino for the safety of the runners they talked about doing it for years and it was supposed to happen soon but so far it's not happening. Motor traffic and runners do not mix. Let's do something about that.
